You want a red dog that will have the trait to go hunt and tree naturaly? Then quit looking for color or pretty 1st...look for traits to do what you want in the woods....or most likely to win or better your stock.Prioritize your needs for a coondog.Good ones have it and take less work to get there.Aint no instant coondog.It takes correct work at the right times of a pups life..without doing something to ruin it.

When I see a dog brought here to train I see when some fail...it is either hid by the breeders or blamed on someone else..but when they do good..the want to jump on board and crow.

You see when it fails...they will include everyone involved

when it does well they are the reason and forget all involved

it is human nature.

So forget the men...look harder at the dogs and the old story goes..if you dont know the dogs behind em..better know the man...bad info or wrong info can never beat the truth.Better info-correct info helps you make better choices-whole lotta bad info being givin out.See it...dont just hear it.

I dont know much and know less I guess then just about everyone on breeding....But the production numbers of big hunt winners are low across the board so maybe its time to take a different look..I breed for traits and instincts...science says that is what you get.

Thinking dogs and dogs with brains...I dont believe it and science says no...They have it bred in or they dont..you cant make it appear.If they could think they would take themselves to the hunts and win.People confuse brains with instinct and traits.The ones with the traits and instinct are easy to train.They seem smart...they seem like they are thinking...not..it is traits and instinct...along with reps of training and experiance...caused by reps to the timber.

Everyone else has the best.......but I dont have to... cull...many of my own.I cull for mean..major health defects.....or less than a good pleasure dog...nobody has a line that all makes it...or all are top comp dogs.But not everyone tells the whole truth and nothing but the truth.Wisdom comes as you find these TRUTHS out.

Common denominator in these pups is PEPPER....generations of winners...generations bred to go hunt..get treed.... and win.I refuse to breed for an avg pleasure dog...or pretty 1st. I love starting other lines of red dogs to compare...so as to see..not hear what is good and what is not as good as claimed.I get to see what mouth, what drive, what temperment, what makes it and what dont...I also see what I would breed to and what I would not.It is a constant watch so you dont miss a line that can improve the breed in a dramatic way becuase you run with close eyes instead of your eyes wide open.You keep watching and working several dogs every month...every month and you keep learning.I dont want to keep working enough dogs till I find a good one.I want to keep getting better and better dogs and better truthful knoweledge.Because I SEE it..not because I hear a version of what someone else wants you to think.

Here is a vid of 2 females I am working now out of my previous litters..You see I keep a pup or 2 from every litter so I know what they are doing with my own eyes...not just to sell pups and expect the public to be my guinea pigs.These are starting to get it together.Wont be long and they will be ready to single out.I expect the same positive results from the pups offered now.I also like to see em start but am just as interested in how they finish out....ask yourself...if they dont have a nice pup from their dog...what is your chance.
