So do you know of a fireball stud dog down here in Ga. My female is in heat and would like to try and find one. My mind is not made up yet on what to breed her to if he is a good one.

Grnitech Jon Henry, call Brian Ratliff he has him and im know the dog has a real pedigree behind him and is a coondog. I dont charge a stud fee but im not in Georgia, But if you want to drive over here you are more than welcome to. Jack or Deuce will throw a coondog that will tree right and stay treed. I will show you both and let you choose what one to breed to, but If I were you Id breed to John simply because he is closer and he is a good hound. Thats just my opinion tho..

Thanks Preston. Sorry if I came off the wrong way. I just like to ask questions, I'm sure you understand. Maybe we can work together in the future. If ya dont mind can you pm me Brians number please.

I'm sure my female will reproduce no matter what I breed her to. She was bred to Ice when Matt had her and I bred her to a local dog that is Wilson blood. I have 2 that are almost 5 months old running and treeing wild coons. not turned loose coons.

Hey I talked to Brian. I liked what I heard and alot of people have sent me pms about his dog. So, I am making a trip down to see him and get Quick bred Monday. So I guess after everything I will be going with some Fireball blood.

I would like to try a female out of some of your stuff. Will you have any pups this spring?

And I agree we all need to work together. And I hope to do some work/buisiness with you one day.

I have 1 old female off Fireball III Grasshopper bred to Deuce. It looks like she will have pups. And I have a couple other crosses planned for next year. Stay in touch and I will let you know what I have.

I want to thank all the folks who have called and pm'd me supporting all the efforts that have been made to keep some very well known hounds going. I really do appreciate it as sometimes thru all the smoke on this forum a person can loose sight of the objectives that were part of the original plan. Richard, Fireball will never be gone for ever, I am glad to have what I have but as Joe says you have to bring in outside blood to keep them straight. Selection is the real key for any "breedings" to work.. Im not caught up into the % of blood per hound, im hung up on breeding whats on my lead strap,not what a dog or "strain" was years ago.. U hit what I was told by some of the people that have been it longer than I have. If a dog has a lot of instinct to tree and comes up short on the tree, u can t put anymore tree in um but u can take the comeing up short out of them.

I know alot of walker guys with sackett jr and rat attack blood that would pay good money to someone who could show them how to take the "coming up short" on the tree out of their dogs. These redbones are some of the most accurate dogs out there of any breed...we don't want to loose that...because once we do...it will be very hard to bring it back....jmo

Of all the many fireball bred dogs I have hunted with over the years....treeing was one thing they all did well. I don't think you have to worry about losing that trait in this strain.

Simply put , when everyone around here ask whybibhunt Redbones I tell them cause they tree REAL live raccoons! It's easy to win and have fun pleasure hunting if ur treeing REAl raccoons

That's right, as my old buddy Al Noneman likes to say " deep and lonely with two lookin down will beat those wood monsters every time"
Whatever we do in this breed....we just can't afford to loose that trait....it really defines this breed more than any other single trait in my opinion.

Thats why I wont go outside the box at this point so to speak, these dogs get treed have a coon and they dont care if you have to walk 50yrds or 2 miles to come put your lead on them. These I have bred will not be titled out as the age of them was upon them b4 I had the chance. But the young hounds are a different story. There are good things happening from alot of different places around the country, im glad to be a small piece of that. I will say I dont recall ever seeing a young dog for sell on this forum or anywhere else that says " real tree dog but just dont have the time" those are snatched up by another coonhunter b4 they ever have a chance to be advertised. most times it reads " runs track well but needs more work or more time on the treeing end" I have to have a dog that tree's plain and simple. they dont all make the grade by any means,but with selection and dedication the outlook looks all the better everytime a cross is made.

I choose not to respond on some of these other topics on here, it seems to just draw negative Attn, I will say that I will continue to hunt,breed and Promote the dogs straight from "Mr.Fireball" the best way I can, Its not my hard work making these pups tree,its other men who went their own way and made these dogs what they are. that statement holds true for every "strain" "line" or "Breed" for that matter. We all have to decide what direction works best based off our individual needs. I will always carry a dog that is a "Tree Dog" but you can bet that "Tree dog" will be under a coon and be there fast.

Dale you have had one of the most successful crosses ever made with Ghost X Sister, It may not count for much but I am sure glad to know that it happened, as you know I outcrossed to ghost with Katie, I didnt get what I was wanting, you went there and they hooked up and made their own mark. My hats off to you and what you have accomplished. Its funny how crosses like yours and the Banjo III X Hiedi cross draw very little Attn from the "forum" but those are crosses that worked no matter the theory behind them, its proven and thats just the end of the story. I was surprised to here that 5 dogs off the B3/Hiedi cross were HTX champions, if those never go to a night hunt it proves that the particular dogs ,Struck,and Treed a wild coon and did it without Fault. thats a title to be proud of. As the hounds like Brother,Shorty,and Danno not to mention the others Ive heard of that get it done.. Those kinds of crosses are mark makers... Im waiting to see if Ive made any Mark Making crosses time will tell

Shane I know what ur saying and never ment they were that radical(Sackett and Rat Attack). Not trying to take the accuracy out just more tree in. My first redbone was 90% accurate because he would ckeck the tree 3-5 times before commiting and these high strung tree dogs would lock down on his first or second locate and u can t win hunts takeing second and third tree. Shane keep up the plan u have look foward to seeing u and ur dogs in the winners column.
