I just thought I would give you a up date on Earl. I dropped him on a fresh coyote I saw on the road. Earl ran it for five hours before I called him off the track because the sun was going down. What a hound I sure am liking this one. I have not had a hound like him for awhile and it sure is fun. Thanks again. I also dropped on of Katie's pups down and he ran for a couple of hours he is sure doing a nice job. I could of sold Earl a number of times but turned down some big money for a pup. Pat, that's great about Earl, he'll just keep getting better here on out! Slew sure put the drive in his pups, and as matt said, being bred to top females is the icing on the cake!

All is well here, this winter is ranking up there as the worst hunting conditions I've seen, lack of a good freeze up before the snow has made hunting nearly impossible here. The good news is I've put up enough firewood and the farm is in good shape, so when weather permits,I'll be in the timber 24/7! Good hunting to all and hope this new year is a good one for all the young up and comming hounds!

Mike if you need a place to hunt, come on over I am retired now and I have been trapping coyotes, beaver, and coon all winter. I would love to have someone to hunt Earl with. I have a place to stay if you would want to come over. Let me know.

Pat, I'm going to try to get over that way next month sometime, I'll try and get up your way for a hunt. I've been trapping a few beaver too, but the ice is bad and making it quite a chore, and the rain we got here lately has really messed things up! Suppose to freeze this week and hopefully we'll get more snow so I can harden these hounds up again!

Just checking in with everyone, been a couple months since I've been on here. Had a good winter chasing coyotes and looking forward to working a pack of young hounds on bear this year. I don't have any concrete plans for breeding this year, but I'm considering a half brother/sister cross on two Slew foot offspring. A similiar cross was made in wisconsin by Andy D, and will keeping an eye on how they progress. Good hunting and keep those Slew Foot hounds in the woods!

made this cross on two Slew Foot offspring, they are 7 weeks old and are about ready to go. These hounds will have Slew Foot and Diamond top and bottom, loaded up on Ellis Blue Jim and S.R.DJ! There are 4 females and 2 males, He may have a couple left if someone backs out. This is a half brother/sister cross with a Slew x Pepper male and a Slew x Diamond female. Pepper is both a granddaughter and half sister to Diamond. These should be some barn burners! Can't wait to get my female!

yes mike we are looking forward to getting are female this wknd.we like that slewfoot crosses so far.i like the speed and long legs nice tight feet and the ones we have seem to have a fairly good nose.we will find out more after we put another year on them.only a month away from training season i cant wait.

Just to let you guys know I bred Earl to Sis and pups will be born June 7. I know Earl is a very young hound but what I have see him do I just was afraid if something would happen to him and I would not get any pups out of him so I bred him to Sis. I am asking $300.00 for the pups and a $50.00 deposit if you would like one. This young hound is one of best hounds I have been in the woods with in a long time. I am retired now so this guy is going to get his paws hunted off of him this bear season. I also have two half bothers to Earl that are also doing one hell of a job. Matt, this cross Andy made should be a dandy! I was considering a similiar cross but decided to hold off this year, as I too have my handsfull this summer! I can't imagine how many hours you have spent behind a long list of these hounds and it sure shows when these hounds are bred. I can go outback and pick this female and that male and make a high percentage cross, that has to be the best trait in these hounds. They all seem to produce their likeness or better! Hope all is well down south.

I had to count ELLIS BLUE JIM 19 times if I counted correct. Diam Jim and Sage up close. I really liked the Hank and Curly cross which Spot was off.Stinger sure was a hit with running hounds.when their feet hit the ground they were looking for a track to run.keep us updated if possible on how this cross works.

On Friday Sis had eleven pups four dried and seven lived. There is 6 males and one female. I will be keeping the female. So there is 6 males left. $300.00 for the pups at eight weeks old. They will be wormed 3 times and their 7 way puppy shots. I had a litter out of Sis last summer and the two I kept are starting to run what ever comes into the yard so look out on this cross.

Well we have some new additions to the kennel here! I've been wanting to make this cross and figured I'd go ahead this year before something happened to either of these hounds, Both Doc and Bee are hard going, big mouthed track and tree dogs with excellent running gear on them. They are everyday type hounds and run to catch. Bee had 7 pups last night and all are doing well, should have a few available come december.
