 Ran in 3 different bean fields Last night

Cut loose down a ditch 1st drop last night with the 1st half mile standing corn, didnt get a bark til he got thru the corn an in the beans, but got him treed after a hot driving bean field race, thats the truth,

Before the night was over had 3 total bean field races with the same results and at the end of the night he looked like he had just left the groomer, hair was polished slick and shining like a silver dollar from those beans and eyes as clear as good moonshine.

not saying that at all dont have a clue what you have, but I do know what I have, a dog that can move a track to the end with speed,can tree a pop-up, can tree a lay up,will hunt the edge with his head in the air,can wind a coon for long distance, but can also put his head on the ground move the track when he needs to, and has no trouble with beans in any way, he will never check his self on a tree when he comes treed its over and over now with super accuracy,but I still say I would never shock a dog for running a coon in a bean field, if they dont have the ability to bring him out then they wont work here. Not sure where you are located but in this country a dog that stops on the track because the coon track went in to a bean is useless.

We may not be that far apart, be glad to have you here sometime, I got a good friend that lives around the cincinatti area coming here tomorrow night we are goin to illinois around effingham area plenty of beans there and I bet my dog wont stop on a hot coon track when it goes into the beans and I wont shock him for it he has never had an e-collar on.

Its easier for a dog to tree coons around the edges of fields. Running a coon through a field is pointless when you can tree one on the edge easier. Same as a dog that is working an old track and comes across a hot track. I want mine to hit the hot track. When I work I want to do the least amount of work possible to get the job done. I want a dog to do the same.

A coon treed is a coon treed. I don't want to listen to a track I want to look at coons.

And this why we have alot of hot nosed dog today that can't work a bad track when a hot one isn't available.

I know I don't need to put my two cent in this. Boy I love forum it went from a question bout eyes to this. But in my opinion. First of were I'm at a dog has to be able to work a track. And I believe that's how a dog spose to be and what they were bred to do. I'm not saying they should be Hung up on a cold track all night especially if there on a cold track a while and come across a hot reach but like I said around here they may have to work a track for awhile as long as they got the meat that's all that matters to shock a dog for doing what its spose to do I don't know bout all that. I want a all round dog myself

WHAT IF YOUR DOG HITS A HOT TRACK WHILE GOIN DOWN THE EDGE, AND THE COON RUNS STRAIGHT ACROSS THE MIDDLE OF THE FIELD AND OUT THE OTHER SIDE, IS YOUR DOG GONNA TRAIL THAT COON OR CONTINUE TO KEEP GOIN DOWN THAT EDGE.

ITS JUST AMAZING SOMETIMES TO READ THIS STUFF

I they can move a track through the field I'm ok with that. If they start losing the race and start circling around in there I'm not happy.


I never said I don't want a dog that can't work a bad track. I don't want a dog that regularly works bad tracks. I want a dog smart enough to tree pop ups in good weather and buckle down and work a track out in tough conditions.

Ps I'm still looking for that perfect dog.
