I for one strongly disagree with the move. I have nothing against MS however there is a little known and obviously little RESPECTED thing called TRADITION!

It is going to be an awesome place to have a hunt.

This sounds like a good move. I see lot of people are upset but one of the biggest hunt is the Grand in SC in the same month. One of the biggest hunt on the East side one on the West side of the South seems fair to me.

My son and I have guided a cast out of Albany the last few years, and have brought in a plus score card every year how many place in Ms. can do that. I have enjoyed hunted UKC hunts for years, and I think that this is pretty bad business on the part of UKC not to inform Albany what they were planing on doing and give them a chance to do what was needed. I really hope there is not many hunters show up. Ed Moore Hey I do travcel to the big hunt, I travel to Autumn Oaks and the Grand American and some times to SEWD. So yes It makes me madI had one right in my back yard and they took away.

WOW.........Just WOW!!!!!!!

It's bad enough of dealing with ANTI HUNTING groups, let alone one of your own wanting an event to FAIL because the vent was moved out of their backyard.

Ed, you only prove that, "We are our worse enemy" statement has substance.

Majority (didn't say all) of the negative comments in this thread share one simiar trait, those posting the negative comments are having the WC moved out of their backyard.

I posted this concerning the World Hunt a few months back and my opinion is the same for the WC:

If UKC were to put it smack dab in the middle of the good ole USA some folks would still complain.

Year after year some folks complain and year after year the World Hunt goes on as planned - with out without the complainers.........this year wil be no different.............same with the Zones as well.

i'm from central mississippi and hate to see this hunt moved. yes it is closer to me by far but i've hunted at the winter classic several times and the land i hunted there is better than any hunting i've seen in my part of the world. plus you have the tradition, that's like when the sec banned cow bells at msu games, you just don't mess with tradition. bad bad move on ukc's part.

as far as the rooms go, how many dogs have been stolen or taken at one of these events? I do not have the luxury of leaving my dogs in the dog box so mine go in the room. they are house broken and crate trained. the bad apples are the ones that let their dogs tear up and piss/poop in the room and not try to clean it up.

If we can eventually back this event up a couple weeks into February, we will hopefully be able to have the dirt pulled out and have everything on concrete.

it is being suggested because that was what was being told "around the water cooler" was that someone complained about the amount or lack of crating area. how many ppl have shown on packed dirt??? its a little different than concrete.

if not the show complaint, then what was the reason??? I mean, after 25yrs shouldnt we have an idea???

and moving to February - when??? that month is already packed with stuff.

What would be even nicer to know is who decided to move it , was it the breed assoc. or was it a committee or was it just a one person decision. Thats what would be nice to know.

I am a little upset that it moved. I dont have a lot of money to be going all over . Yes i have been to Autumn oaks twice , i have been to Orangeburg 4 times and been to the Classic 4 times . It all depends on the money . It doesnt matter to me how good the hunting is because it cant get any worst than what i hunt in . If i have the money i will come but beings it is this close to Orangeburg and moved this far i dont believe i will make it . As for leaving my dog in the box , no i will not . They are worth to much to worry about being left the box .

Tim...United Kennel Club made the decision. Wayne, Tanya, Allen and myself. We looked at a lot of different angles and options and we agreed unanimously that this was best for the future of the event. I hope you are able to make it....you will really enjoy it I think.

Todd,

how much of a factor did attemting to hurt PKC have to do with the decision. i think this is as much about trying to take business from PKC as it is about anything else. I hope this isnt a trend, coonhunting wont survive without a storng ukc and pkc

did u not read where Todd said they are looking at moving a couple of weeks back into February? even if it is not on the exact same weekend, if it is jsut a week or 2 apart it certainly could have an impact

even if they do move it back some, it won t hurt either. The PKC boys (myself Included) will go on down to the PKC winter Classic and UKC can have theirs...

I don t think this was done to harm PKC, but I could be bad wrong...I hope not though....be like a 5 yr old trying to fight Anderson Silva....Dont think UKC wants that

just curious, what makes you think pkc has more money than ukc?

you do realize all the additonal revenue UKC has coming in from non coonhound registries an the bench shows that pkc does not?
