The first really good dog I ever hunted with was a Plott. She wasn't no blow down coon dog but she always had a coon. In the early eighties I hunted with a Redbone named Brunswick Littleman. He was a hard loud tree dog and I hunted reds for 20 some odd years. I recently got back into it and now have a nice Walker. It seems like if you breed two decent Walkers the puppies always turn out. I have seen some really magnificent dogs in my time, of all different breeds and honestly the really good ones all acted the same...if they were spray painted purple you couldn't tell one breed from the other {when they are that good.} I always had a soft spot for all blue blueticks, I guess because you don't see that many of them.

I hunt walkers. I'm 40 years young . and was raised as a young boy around walkers. Now my dad had a few blueticks . and later a English dog or 2. But his best dogs were walkers. He bred his females a few times and gave me the pup I would want . he sell the rest of them. As I grow up young I was always fascinated with bloodlines. How they were bred. What dogs they were out of. I remember in school I would draw up pedigrees on my folders instead of doing my schoolwork. Lol. And I always buy me a pup or 2. Train them. And I had some great older men that new dogs help me along the way. Taught me everything I would listen to. I myself have tried a few English pups I got to treeing coon. And been around plotts for around 5 years when I lived in west Virginia. Some good dogs for bear and coon. I hunted my 2 walkers right with them. They were real coon dogs my 2 walkers. And my good plott man friend said my 2 walkers can eat his feed anytime. And he was not a walker fan. Would it be great if you could take the best traits from all breeds and make the perfect dog? Lol. I got the flu pretty bad from being out to much. Hunting in the cold. Lol. So under the weather so typed a little story. But its true. There good ones in all breeds and sure are some bad ones to. Take care. .

there are 2 reasons I hunted English. Nick Olster and Kelly Stagner. They handed me my first English pups in 1983 or 84.
