yes, i just got my english a year and a half ago. have a walker mix that i got 6 years ago. what i have a problem with is that when you go to a show, any show, you really do have to ask what the breed is when it comes to color. the english has a very loose color standard and that is why everyone doesnt want to change it. all i wanted was to maybe make the coloration a more stringent standard so that everyone in their uncle breeding a coonhound couldnt lump them under one loose term of english.
maybe , just maybe, if you have blue english, breed for blue and reg. them as such so they are separate and recognizable as such.
not just lump- them into a broad catagory as english.
this is all i am saying.
redtick english, bluetick english, tri colored english.
this is not a giant debacle for anyone owning a coonhound.
if someone wanted a blue english, they would go to a blue breeder. etc. but at least they would know what they were wanting and looking at.
