ya i honeslty enjoy training season way more than kill season, the thrill to me is just the hunt and hearing the dogs run. our trainign season starts july 8th so its gonna be a little time yet before i can have some fun, we only treed 32 bear this past year but that pretty good for our area, it just gets so hot in the training season, its tough trying to cold trail/run a bear when its almost 90 degrees by 9 or 10 oclock in the morninn in jackpine/flatland area, we sometimes gota cold trail a few miles before the dogs can get into a swamp or a decent area where they can get scent, it usually just depends on how long its ben since its rained and sometimes that can be a while, but im sure you know how that goes! then most of the time we usually jump the fast little tennis shoe bears that will run all day on the flat land and not tree, but usually towards the end of training season those little bastards usually start treein cuz the dogs are in pretty **** good shape by then, but im gonna be startin college soon and im gonna git a decent career under my feet so i can move to an area where i can hunt close to home and hopefully just not on the weekends, and yea the bear numbers will go up soon, its really just certain areas that its down, but in most parts of the U.P. its not to bad, but just alota overkill happened where we spend our training season in the lower peninsula
