no sir, i do believe you're wrong, not everybody. and yes, if a cull hound that wont hunt will turn out to be a good disabled assistant to my grandmother, why not, the coonhound is a very sociable, honest, sincere, noteworthy, even tempered, loveable, easy learning, astute, and let's not forget to mention, wants to please, and is a very transitional hound that can go from situation to situation no matter what you ask of them. did i forget to mention they are very LOYAL. so the answer to your question, is yes, i would have a culled coonhound lead my own mother. but not yours.
thank you\
KELLEY KARLOVIC YENNY

ps. dont watch a bunch a bball do ya, there are guys that are only 5'5 on the nba teams that kick butt.

An you know this from your 7 months of being a coonhound owner? Wow you are a risk taker for sure. Bring her down, I got one right now I would love to see her walk for 2 minutes. We will make it like a rodeo. We will get the leash on him, hand it to Mommy and open the gate.

Tickets available everyone, PM me.......

see it's the percentage thing that screws you up. it is the one in a million that becomes the best and the people that give support that excels this individual.

It seems like more of a marriage dispute then a coon dog dispute.

Ron,,, why bother? The average hunter that shows up to a local hunt is clueless as to what a good consistent dog actually is.

good lord, here we go again, this is fun, i am around, and do hunt with folk with above average dogs. they did qualify and did well for the world hunt. i know some things, i read alot of things, and I WILL BE THE FIRST TO ADMIT, there are alot of things left to know and that will be unknown till you discover them. that 's why, gentleman, there are only so many people that have the nobel in chemistry or any other science. and i am sure that neither of us qualify as of yet. but, since i have been told, i have been wrong before

I know man, you are 100 million percent correct. The fact is being honest with people when everyone else is patting them on the head and telling them they are doing great is just my style. It is very unpopular but It got the time here so why not? Trips my trigger to watch folks without any tread spin in the mud.....

As far as dating.....I am dating a great girl right now. She hunts with me and spent an expectional amount of time in the woods since last Summer. She has gone through the EXACT same "all dogs are great" mentality that these girls are till she hunted for a year solid and now her patience are much less thin. She has had to experience a year here to realize that hounds are not cute fuzzy little guys that you snuggle up with in the house, but working animals that are best kept in welded wire, concrete, and with homes they can't chew to shreds. She got to hunt with a decent coon treeing dog and now realizes how hard it can be to spend the night in the woods with a dog that just doesn't have it. She is just now starting to understand what "useless" really means and to me that is progress enough.....

That was actually quite clever. I gotta give you credit, didn't think you had it in you. I guess what I lack in personality I make up for in physicality....

ron how long did it take you to learn all that.... or did you come here knowing it to.... if i didnt like dogs hunting would be no fun and i like winning as much as anyone i have hunted useless dogs before but i have also hunted dogs that top handlers said they didnt think would make it and took them to 4 world hunts and didnt feel to let down when i left... every dog does not make it but none make it without a chance and shes having fun something you dont seem to have to much of so let it rest shes doing what she likes thats all thats important... in fact i wish she were close enough to help her out when and if she needed it not try to tear her down.... good luck kelly with your hound

Just and FYI - I don't have an "all dogs are great" mentality. We have had our share of hounds that don't make it in the woods and we make an effort to find them the kind of home that DOES suit them.

Seriously until you have actually met me, spent time with me, and gotten to know me and my dogs you really have no basis for your judgemental, sarcastic, and general piss poor attitude towards me and Kelly. Your "honest" opinion is just that - YOUR opinion - and not a very helpful one at that if you haven't noticed. MOST people when finding that their vews and "ideas" differ from the way someone else wants to hunt/live with their dogs are intelligent enough to just shut up instead of continually stirrping the pot cause they have nothing better to do.

it is also not my fault you were born with a bad virus of being chauvenist, and dwarfisim at the same time. dont blame it on a girl just because you have pent up frustration.

one day, just one day.

just ask kellie and danielle haney, you do have respect for them right? so do I.

Hold on Folks!!! I want Kelley to succeed. I have done my absolute best through PM and on this board to give her the best advice I know how to get her dog from where it is at to where it needs to be in the shortest amount of time with the least amount of heartache. Patches is right, most of what I am posting is from experience and time spent in the woods with useless dogs. I would have NEVER started this sport if I didn't begin with the view that it would be half as hard as it is.

What kelley or anyone else does or hunts or expects is absolutely none of my business or concern, BUT if you ask me for advice or information I am going to tell you the truth. I am not going to make it sound like if you just keep at it, every dog is going to make it. A long time ago someone told me that "honesty is better than kindness" I just with someone had been honest with me when I started and I woudn't have wasted years of my life and dollars of my pay sinking it into hopes and dreams. I would have much prefered the facts....

Frustration about what?? I have no idea what you are talking about. At this point in my life I have everything I could ever ask for. I am the least frustrated person I know of. With you asking for as much help as you are asking for, I think it is you that is frustrated.

many pm's about giving up already, but thank you anyhow. wont do it to the bitter end, and i will keep on trying with my pup, and bye the way, the mix, just is my best friend that sleeps with me at night and is my best friend. thank goodness i did not cull him. he is the best treein dog i have. when he talks, you listen. better get there. do i have to repeat, he is my best friend, and after this thread do we need to wonder why? and i said mix. he is a mutt, in commonplace terminology. but his mom is a walker. i know about the trials and tribulations,

and yes, i can afford to feed another, or another, or another. i think i might get into the rescue business. why not. this is one heck of a breed to do it with.

BYE THE WAY, have owned the walker mix for over 5 years and went out hunting all the time with him. it is not anyone's fault that you cannot teach your dogs to lead but your own.

This is a great idea. Your right, it is a great breed to do it with, never a shortage of coondogs that people don't want and that need a home. Please let me know when you get it started, you are close and I could help get your started pretty quick.

Best of luck with Skeet, your new prospect, and the mix dog. I will keep watching the for the updates.

The earliest that I have ever seen a pup tree was about 5:30 AM.

Just thought that I'd try to lighten this thread up a little.

By the way Ron and Kellie, if you decide to start a new thread, I've got a catchy title for you: AS THE WORLD HUNT TURNS!! or maybe GUIDING NITE LITE
