I agree with you that a lot of dogs get over looked because they have not got titles. I also agree that if a man buys a pup and make it a titled hound he should have that right. I do not buy pups. I breed my own. This is what I do . I try to buy GOOD dogs that are nite ch and I finish them into Duel Grand. We do not have a lot of coon in this part of the country. It is real hard to get pups started here. That is why I buy started hounds. I also think this way I know what I am buying. I do not want just a good dog. I want a Duel purpose hound that can do it all. When you buy a pup do you KNOW if it is a good one. I for one do not want to buy a pig in a poke. I want to buy the best that can be brought. mY STRONG POINT IS NOT TRAINING OR HUNTING it is BREEDING. I have all the hounds that I need. I want to breed a 5th gen. all grand that is out of two coonhounds not just papered hounds. Now if a new guy starts breeding English hounds where is he to start. At the bottom with a pig in a poke (I don't think so). The young people want to be able breed as good hounds as the old timers. If not we will not keep this person very long. It is not imp. what they breed as long as it keeps them in our sport. Lets look at the young person that comes to the hunts. By the time he gets to hunt he has been lied to a least how many times? He has been sold a lot of junk hounds that most owners knew were junk.(THEY SOLD THEM ANYWAY). Now when they get to the hunt they go out and get cheated ( maybe because they don't know the rules) or they get cheated because they drew two buddys. What is most imp. to me is our sport. WITHOUT YOUNG PEOPLE WE HAVE NO SPORT.
I think we need to help our new people no matter if they are rich or poor. No matter man or woman or old or young.
Everyone wants a new person to start at the bottom and work for years to get to the top. This is why our sport is going to the dogs. We need to support our new people not crook them. I try to give the youth around here a good pup to get them started. We loose enough people every year to keep our sport alive. SOONER OR LATER WE LOOSE OUR SPORT.

If you would like to have a little better pig in a polk give me a call and I will hook you up. I have a new litter of New Years pups. They are out of Duel Grand Feebee and a all Grand that is NTCH GRCH Prowler. Prowler has 2 wins towards grand. He is a good hound that will be easy to finish. I have both female and male pups at this time. The reason I breed the all grand males is they are bred to reproduce and if you cross to good females. You have a better chance to get good pups. This is Feebee 2 litter .She now has 9 pups. Her first litter was bred to frozen seman from Wilcox's Thunder Bingo. She only had one pup that lived. It is owned by Oakridge Kennels.
If you would like to have one of these pups send me a post or call me at 304-623-9788. and I will keep one for you. Don't wait to long or they will be gone. I took a reserve on 4 pups because I did not think she would have a large litter. I learn new things ever day.

He should be started about anytime now. I for one like a set hound that way I can find out just what he or she is doing and just how to call them. I only hear out of one ear and this makes it easier to call them. It doesn't help that I am getting old and hard hearing. I am kind of like the old hound I like to lay around in the shade.

Don't let old Houndster fool ya.I saw his picture in Bloodlines this month from where he'd did some winning at english days last year with that started 5 year old......lol He's bred pretty good himself.....Smooth Talking Jed and a nt.ch. female out of Wildfire, then he's got a female down there that made nt.ch. in just a handful of hunts and she's out of Huck A Buck.

That ol' redneck's got some dog power down there.

Don - Hey I was looking through the event winners section in the back of the bloodlines the other night and I seen where your Casper dog scored 1,100 points or something for a nite champion win. First of all congratulations, and I was curious is that your highest score?

Yes 1100+ was the highest score that we scored all year. It was at Kirby, Pa. We have scored from 900-1100 nine times this year. The only high score when I guided was 1050+ at Marshville, W.V.and it was scored on buckets. This was my only win on my buckets that I won all year. Most of our scores are on wild coon. I hunt where ever I am taken and we can win anywhere. I hate to guide or judge because that way they can't say that it is not right. You are a nice guy as long as you are not winning and you are always cheating if you win. You must not let this bother you or you will not be in this sport very long. If you have a real coonhound you do not have to cheat because most of your comp. does not have a real coonhound. If you can call your dog as they do it and not call everyones elses you can win if you do not draw minuse. The guys that are junping on the first and first down here they will draw a big minuse before the hunt is over. I just call my dog and I have enough problems doing that.

Wayne F.

This is the pedigree on GRNTCH GRCH 'PR' Northridge Jojo's Feebee. Her mother is GRNTCH Northridge Willy's Jojo and her father is CH GRNTCH 'PR' Michigian Swamp Rooster. Jojo is the top reproducing female of all time and Rooster is the top reproducing male of all time. The pups out of this cross if finished can sire a all grand. The price is $250. for males or females. I do not have very many females left so if you want a female you better hurry and reserve one. This litter is all redtick. I had one that was all white with blue on its ears but it died. There are 7 pups left in this litter. I have a reserve on 4 out of 7.

In Feebee's litter there is a all white pup. He may change his color a little but right now he is all white. Yes this pup is a male. He may get a little red on him but I don't think it will be much.

GRNITECH WILCOX's THUNDER MAD JOKER

Here is my nickle's worth.

I think everyone with a Grnitech gyp (that has 2 grandnitech parents) that worth being bred take her to Wilcox's Thunder Mad Joker to get bred.

That pup should be all coondawg, if your gyp is truely is worth breeding.

You then Grand that pup and take it back to and Breed it to the All Grand Casper or Prowler dog.

Bang there is your 4 Generation All Grand out of ALL COONDOGS.

Just the oppinion of a guy who is on the outside looking in. The outside looking in meaning a guy who hunts walkers and is purely looking at pure coondogs and their paperwork.

Guys

Let me explain these hounds a little bit Casper and Prowler is out of Huck A Buck and Lucky cross. Zeb and Rat Poison is out of Huck A Buck and Ten cross. Lucky is the mother to Ten and Queen and Durango was the father. Thunder and Dan are out of St.Nick and Queen. St. Nick is a littermate to Lucky. Bingo and Gold is the sire and dam of ST. Nick and Lucky.
So as you can see these hounds are all close related and all are bred to reproduce. So wshen you bred to any of these hounds you should get multiple use hound. They have been hunted on coon, bear, cats, and boar that I know of. These hounds are bred to win no matter what you hunt. I hope this explains to everyone a little better. If I can be of any help please give me a call at 403-623-9788.

It may be above most English guys head right not but you Walker guy sure work together a lot better than the English guys do. In the Walker blood you have a wide range of hounds to pick out of. The English blood you do not have but a few to choose from and most of them have a big breeder that does not want to work with anyone let alone a new guy on the block.
W alkers are the biggest breed out there and it is no wonder why.The comp.in breeding is not there. This comp. hurts the English breed and will continue to hurt. We all need to get together and get to know each other and learn to work together to help thew breed. It is easy to say (I am working to better the breed). It is something very diffence to realty do it. I am trying to help the ENGLISH breed and anyone who would like to help me please give me a post or call. Even post your # and I will call you.
Hay J.R. that sounds like a good idea. I think it would be a good idea to get all the English breeders together to dis. our breed and sport. Sounds like a good tome to me. Then again what do I know.

Don, you have some nice hounds I'm sure, but as a new guy myself I don't know how to take your post. For one I don't think this breeding thing is over the English guys heads, the problem is (if there is one) some people are strain blind.

I'm sure the Briar Creek and Wilcox lines are of exception quality, heck three of the dogs I have contain Wilcox. BUT there ARE other quality lines out there that people are breeding and huntin' with everynight. A few examples: Oney, JR, Hardtime (stuff to Speck and stuff direcly to Rocky), Tapp, Lumis/Sargent Blue, Neuse River, the Oakwood stuff is winning yet, and I'm sure I left some off, the outcrosses that you need/want or out there they just might not be All-Grand.

I find pups on here all the time that I'd love to make room for, I currently have three young females that I'm hopin' impact the breed in years to come (LOL don't we all). But seriously they ain't all grand, and will hopefully be bred to dogs that can keep what they have and hopefully inject anything that might be needed, if that dog happens to be All-Grand great, but if he is just PR that'll be fine also.

That's just my opinion, take it for what it's worth, and I hope everything works out for ya in the dog business.
