Those pics make it look like you have made it more difficult for yourself than need be. Cut one slit across the back like skinning a squirel and grab the top on his pants with catfish skinning pliers and pull while holding the body . Then separate the body. Just a hint.

me and diggerman went last night, had a blast. had a big somebeach gotta way three times, big around as my fore arm!!! hit him three times and couldn't even penetrate its hide with the gigging spear...
