Ok...do you talk to the dog or pet on her when she comes in to you? If you do that is a HUGE mistake when trying to get a pup to go. She is only lightly started and about 11 mo. now so I would only hunt her about 2-3 nights a week and about 1-2 dumps a night. If you take her out one night and she looks fantastic on a dump take her home and call it a night. I like to end on a good note when possible when training a young dog, and I like that good dump to be the last thing on that dog's mind for the night. I hope she turns out for you and good luck!

Jared,
Step back and take a look at what your dog is doing. Read all your post, and only your post.
Get all the clutter and varied remarks from so many people out of your mind, think about your dog and what she is doing.
She is your dog, you are hunting her, and you are the one that knows what she is really doing.
Only one, two-fold question: Does she have the potential to be what you are looking for and does she have the heart to live up to that potential?

help

first problem is you are expecting too much for a 9 month old. if you keep pushing it, the pup will lose interest. if the pup barks at a caged coon, then the pup may be ready to hunt alittle. hunt for about a hour to hour and a half a night. i have a walker pup just turn 1 and she just now showing interest. i figure by fall she will be ready to hunt alittle.
