You can't leash lock anyone else. You could leash lock yourself because it is optional but why would you attempt to leashlock anyone else and what rule are you using to back up that attempt?


i never said i was leash locking anyone i said i personally would leash lock and walk to tree unless the 5 mins was still going cause if the five is still going on the tree i could possibly get some points

I didnt add anything. John Duemmer started this thread and after I explained the way I understood his scenario, he concurred I was right!! So yes we are dealing with the original scenario! Read ALL the posts. By the way, how can treberta be correct if TK emailed you and said exactly what I did??? You must be on the same page as the one youre arguing with or you'll never learn anything. The whole thing is about running time on dogs declared treed or struck WHEN THEY HAVE ALL HUSHED!! Meaning NO DOGS ARE "OPENING" ANYWHERE!!!

The judge handled it correctly. It dont matter if a dog(s) are declared treed. If NO dogs are barking, you must run the time and either the time will catch the dogs and they are minused or at least one of the dogs must open before you can recast!

Because when this rule change first came up I had emailed Allen G for a better clarification. Then reading this message board, there have been several discussion regarding how it is to be judged, again backed by Allen G. Then the Advisor column in the March 2009 again clarified the rule and replayed several scenarios and how to judge them. That is all that is in print for us to go off and that's how I'll judge it.
The way I figure it, you can do it your way, I'll do it mine. When the formal complaint hits UKC's desk, we'd both have a 50% chance of being correct depending on whose job it is to actually handle those complaints. That's how I see it.
