If he did not have the judges permission to handle his dog he's DONE. PERIOD.

My pondering is that a dog on the leash, for no reason, while hunt time is running is not competing for the full 2 hours. Another dog is out with the chance to get minused while one that should be out is tied to his handler. My further pondering makes me wonder what rule allows you to handle this dog, I personally don't know of one. Next time I have a big lead with 5 minutes to go, I think I'll just not cut my dog loose that last time. LOL

Man at this point I just hope Allen will answer this question. I know what I was told and I believe what I was told. Any further opinions are yours and whoevers. Someone wrote earlier in the post that UKC is going to have to be plain about situations. You know I thought I was right and was told differently by UKC, and that is all I can say personally and truthfully.

Barry, i was done with Nitro...focusing my attention on Reba and then Boomer and Hassie's pups will be here around middle of May....be time to train them before you know it. I hate to see Nitro out there on the chain not getting hunted

I learned a long time ago that when Allen or Todd have something to say about how a rule works, they come on here and say it. When someone else comes on here and tells me they said it......well, sorry but that don't swing it for me.

This was stated earlier, it is called an implied scratch. Alot of things are not covered by the rules and are implied to be scratchable offenses because they are not going along with other rules. The situation you describe is going against several rules and that makes me think it falls under this catagory. I have seen several people get on here and say Todd said or Allen said and then they will make sure they write the proper answer. Sometimes we misunderstand things. Not long ago I had misunderstood the recast rule and was wrong. So everybody makes a mistake every once in a while. I am sure we will hear from Todd or Allen before long and we will all know FOR SURE what the correct answer is.

Too good to let it go un-answered by UKC.
