The more knowledge you have of nutrition and dogs, the less reliant you'll be on "lists". Kinda like giving a man a fish and feeding him for a meal.....earn the knowledge for yourself and you can sit back and laugh at those promoting garbage feed. They don't realize how ridiculous they sound. It always comes down to how cheap they can get it and what the poop looks like as the deciding factors of a good feed. The feed boys know this and depend on these unknowing folks to do their advertising for them. There is always a large segment only too willing to oblige.

The list you are looking for may not exist for you. I can tell you what I use and what it cost, but most likely no one carries it in your area or if they do the price is different and that causes nothing but a fuss. All dog food manufacturers have a web site for you to look at their products.
All people have a different take on dog food and use what they want not what someone else wants them to use. This tread started out about ridicules dog food post not another debate on food in general. If you want to find out about dog food, research what you have available in your area. You can't price check because it varies so much. And if you still can't find what you want try the search at the top of the page

do you have a tsc store near you if so maroon bag of diamond 21dollars for 50 pounds not the best but one of the best for the money and meat based. now remember this make the transition over a 7 day perion by mixing 2/4 old 1/4 new for 2 gays then 1/2 and 1/2 then for next 2 days 3/4 new 1/44 old then go to allnew if you still have old just mix small amount till its gone give your dogs a month and you will see a big differance feed according to directions on bag and adjust a little more or less according to the dog you will see the dogs eating a little less as you go along.this food is not the best but is decent feed for the money you will see the food will cost you less than what your feeding due to the dogs digest more of what they eat and will look and feel beter and as a bonus less piles to clean up as they use most of what they use

I can't provide you a list of $20 feed. I don't use them. If you knew what I paid for what I feed, you'd laugh me off the board. On top of my feed price, I also use a supplement that for 10 lbs of it, you could buy 5 of your $20 bags. But, I also subscribe to my signature below. I use Diamond Extreme Athlete. Good feed but I still supplement through the fall and winter. I can hear it now though..."if its so good, why supplement?" My answer to that is, I do as everyone else does, I do what works for my dogs. I can do it cheaper for sure, I just choose to keep my standard of care at a higher level. Makes it easier for me to turn them loose and demand everything they have. I provide it, they better give it. There is no second guessing what I am feeding, I know they are getting everything. You don't see me on here asking whats the best feed or changing feed up all the time. I know what a dog needs to run at peak level and its much different than what is offered in your $20 feeds. Will $20 feeds work? Yup, countless hunters have proven it. Do what works for you. Too many variables otherwise.

some thing to consider is that ingredients are listed however the percentage of the ingredients plays a good part of how good the food is when for instance they say corn then corn meal than brewers corn thats an awful lot of corn .corn is one of the cheapest grains available meat unless it says what kind of meat it all could be the unusable parts not eaten by humans feet heads and anything else.
Bobby Stevens when wild canines are eating good they purge most of there worms however when your domestic dogs purge them its usualy a sign there realy loaded with worms. if you keep your dogs on the ground most likelt rhere reinfecting themselves you have to move them around and treat the ground to keep them worm free.

I feed Hi-Standard dog food and I am extremely happy with it. I have people that just stop in at my house because they seen my dogs from the road and said they look great. My vet even had me bring her a sample. She is amazed on how my dogs look. I get Hi-Standard dog food up here for $22.00 per bag for the 26/18 by the pallet or $24.00 per bag if you buy less than a pallet. I feed the 23/16 in the summer and that is $21.50 per bag by the pallet or $23.00 per bag for less than a pallet. I feed 3 dogs a month on one bag in the winter time and during hunting season. I feed less during the summer.

This is what is working for me and I plan to stick with it.

the reson i gave you the diamond dog food is because it' a good food at a reasonable price and most people have a tractor supply within a reasonable distance from where they live.
johhny reb gave you a good one thats reasonable but not as axailable as the diamond.
whatever you use just make sure you make a gradual switch as any switch in feed will give the dog the runs if you make a sudden change

Bobby - try going to Bowlin's dog store in Bean Station. He has the plantation and pride - less than $20 for a 50lb bag
