This might be a dumb ? but are you one on one with the judge or are their more dogs in the box wiating to take their turn?

The reason I ask is Do you have to have a judge for everyone that shows up?

Read back a few posts. You could have more dogs waiting to take there turn I guess but you could be judgeing while you are waiting too.

mnplotman I think they just shoot the handler after the 64 th. failure. LOL

I think a dog should have to pass the hunt test before it is able to compete in a hunt!

Wouldn't be enough dogs left in the hunts to suport the clubs. I don't understand why people think a dog has to be good to enter a hunt. How do you get beat by a no good dog. Unless you have a me too dog. Then you might.............

Theres nothing I hate worse then drawing a me to dog that cant tree its own coon!!!! The dog should be capable of holding its own plain & simple! Maybe they could set up a cast for the dogs that cant tree there own coon or ( PASS THE HUNT TEST ) , & see how that goes! LOL!!!

Like I said, if you only had dogs that had passed a htx you would not have enough people to suport a club. It takes money and to get it you have to have people come hunt.....The best a me too dog should be able to do is second place. You hate it becouse it is just a sory dog. Smile, it is not your dog. If you can't beat it then you might rethink wich one is the me too dog......Nite Champion your dog there shouldn't be as many in that class. Open class is were the fun hunters and kids would rather stay.

Thats why you gotta watch out for some of these titled dogs! Half of them cant even tree there own coon!!!!! You got a dog treeing coons in a cast & winning it, & the handler makes a bad call & takes some minus, & heres this me too dog comes along & gets a easy win! Now you got a me tooing idiot with a title that cant even tree its own coon! I know you gotta have them to make the club hunts successful! But they should have to prove themselves worthy of it before they get to compete!

I don't see how in UKC a me too dog wins. If your dog trees first the me too dog has to be second...It will wind up not in the hole as bad and would let it win in PKC but ti doesn't work that way in UKC.

Kinda hard to believe that it would happen enough times for a dog to get a title.

I think that most guys who claim they got beat by a " me-too" dog , actually got beat by a dog that came in and showed their dog how to run a track ! LOL

That sounds good & all, But its just my opinion & Theres no reason to get all worked up over it! But I still think the dog should prove itself worthy of competing before it can just be entered in any hunt! I dont have much use for a dog that you have to walk hunt, or want even tree its own coon! If you are packing a coon dog then whats the worry? Pass the hunt test, then go put it in some hunts. Thanks!

Well like I said before. You wouldn't have enough dogs to suport a club and that would ruin it for all. Nothing is perfect but this is a great org. and I would just say learn to call your dog better. I am sure there is titled dogs out there I wouldn't feed too but that is life..............The test isn't perfect either but it is a great thing for the ones that do it honestly........The ones that don't everyone knows about and have no respect for. It is what it is and that is what you make it...........

I thought that was why people entered in hunts was to prove their dog worthy.

Would you keep a hound & feed it if It wouldnt tree its own coon? Or would you move own to something else? So you saying even if you didnt have a dog at your house that would tree a coon, you would still enter it in a hunt?
