Spook

A friend of mine named Chuck Milligan had a super female that he called Spook that was a top coon dog. She hunted hard, avoided trash, and stayed treed. He sold her to the Long brothers who successfully hunted her in the UKC events and did very well.

Some of you may know Wilford Tipton of James Town Tenn. He had a dog named Buck that was has good as any coondog in the woods. The Thing about Tipton he has had the same strain of dogs dating back to 1972 of a pioneer breed. He is best trainer that I know of. And I have had the pleasure to hunt with for many years. He doesn’t care for the hunts so no big titles on his own dogs but many people has put title on dogs that he has raised and sold.

THATS RIGHT, SHE WAS A HALF MATE TO STORMWATCH. YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD, SHE MADE SOME MISTAKES BUT SHE COULD TREE ALOT OF COONS.

Curtis Walker's - Walkers W VA Snake

We got to go on our first bear hunt in July of last year - 4th of July weekend - this dog was unbelievable. The hunt started that morning about 7:30 am - it was already in the low 80's - this is mainly training season for Curtis. The dogs struck and Curtis turned Snake and another dog loose on the track. I think it was after 11:00 am when they treed the bear. The bear came down and race #2 was underway - by this time it was getting close to 95 degrees. The guys climbed into places - you would wonder how a dog made it through. About 3 or 4 o'clock - Curtis came back to get some fresh recruits - the other dogs had just about had it -But Snake was still running -about 6:30 pm - Snake was treed again on a mountain top - it was a fallen tree into a bunch of big rocks. He had been treed by himself for hours. It took my husband a while to get into where he was treed. He said when he got to him he just about cried - there he was chopping at the tree - he had never seen such heart in a dog. He had no let up in over 12 hours in the incredible heat and humidity. The Snake dog is 12 years old. Can you believe that.

I have hunted with a few good plotts but the ones the stand out the most in my mind were Pineridge Lester, Turkey creek Bud, and Wayne Allen's Star 4 female. All put on a show the night I drew them.

Back 30 years ago Smith's Pond Creek Bandit, Smith's Pond Creek Sandy which I ended up owning and Coral Ridge Bear. These dogs all came out of Melton Bagwell stock. These got me hooked on Plotts. Treed a lot of coons, had some of the greatest times in my life.

I can't not remember the dogs name, but it was one of Mr. Burdette's dogs that he hunted at Autumn Oaks. That plott whipped us all that that year and i do believe it was 4th overall. Very accurate, and easy handling too. I don't get to huntwith the plott dogs much, but this one still sticks out among the ones i have.
