When was the last time the you hear the phrase Taliban?
This past week there was a general election...democratic in nature in Afghanastan! Who was resposnisble for that? What countries leader enabled an oppressed middle eastern country to have a free democratic election?
When you watch the news, where is the "fighting" taking place in Iraq? Is it not in ONE location primarily? Is it not done by "insurgents"?
I believe that if you study economics you will find that the US economy is cyclic in nature with highs and lows. I also believe that if you look at the economy you will find that many of the economic measurements are actually better than they were four years ago. Yes, there are people that are looking for work. Yes, we have lost jobs to NAFTA. I did not agree with NAFTA when it was signed, and don't agree with it now.....but it is a done deal and it has nothing to do with George W. Bush.
Osama Bin Laden is still at large, and there are 16,000 US troops still in Afghanastan, and they will most likely be there for a while. When the President addressed the nation and the Congress before going to War with Iraq, he said it was a long term event. The media rode along in the early days of the war, and reported "victory after victory" on the movement to Bahgdad....now they only thing they report is that "two more soldiers were killed today".
Saddam Hussein is a mad man, that used poison gas on his own people for ethnic cleansing much like Hitler. When tens of thousand of US soldiers died to liberate Germany and eastern Europe they were heros, and the war was "just".
I urge everyone to vote for the person that they feel can lead the country, and serve as the leader of the free world on election day. I urge everyone to take into consideration which candidate will lead with strenght, integrity, and the resolve to protect the United States as a whole.
And I urge anyone that thinks that job creation and retention as a presidential task to look into local and state politics. The reality is that it is at the local and state level where jobs are created and maintained.
