I hope that you are wrong, I like to think better of people than that.
I have found that often when a person feels uncomfortable with people of a different color. That person tends to blame it on the other people.

Often those feelings come from inside the person who feels uncomfortable. The responsibility of showing others the qualities that make you who you are, will always remain your responsibility. If they find value in who you are and what you believe, you are accepted.

If not then you need to look in the mirror and ask questions of yourself rather than feeling that the others have a problem. At least thats what I have always done.

believe what Track said that race will always be an issue is a truism... we all tend to be ethnocentric-like what we are-prefer it, like less-trust less, etc. that which is different, breaks along lines of race culture-religion-politics on and on... now does exist in degrees from mild to overt hate-desire to destroy what is different.... being proud of what we are is important, but hating those that may be different is a negative... my way is the right way-only way-others who differ always wrong, can see that consistently reading posts on this board...
what Track says about tolerate, not really trust does have merit on a general level, may not apply on personal levels... believe today a lot of what divides is economics-scare resources with plentiful demands, just not enough to go around and this acts to divide-not unite, always going to be this way, just a fact-reality of human existence, always going to be those that have and those that do not...

if had the opportunity to sit down and have a beer with the president would tell him that hope and pray that his administration is successful and able to do the best for this great nation, but that his ideas-thoughts-policies are not the only ones and that the ideas of others should always be sought-encouraged-incorporated... don't just talk the talk, but walk the walk when it comes to bi-partisanship, put the needs of the nation 1st and always, never poltical agenda.... keep the nation strong-safe, always protect it and treat those who do so with great repect-dignity... involve those that have the real expertise-for example health care pros., not just the political hacks and the vested interests that support them to help develop a health care system that will work best.... promote education, but not just $$$$ without outcome, cut gov't. spending period- smaller gov't. that is more responsive-less expensive... balance budget period.... institute a tax system that works- fair tax or flat rate income, all pay period- no tax dodges-write-offs that favor anyone... support capitalism-promote it, but provide needed regulation to keep it strong, self-regulation has proven to be a failure... be future looking, but with an eye on what has taken us to where we are now... green technology is key, but with thought-planning-co-operation of all involved.... deal with social security-medicare, etc... a must.... defend the constitution, follow it, especially the bill of rights that establishes-protects personal liberty... provide for equal access to opportunity, but not favor one group at the expense of another.... jobs-jobs-jobs, work with all involved to create more-better.... use common sense to solve common problems... stay grounded and in touch with those who live on mainstreet.... protect the environment, but be realistic, cap and trade needs evaluation, sounds good to incoporate market place in this endeavor, but don't want to creat a greater another problem.... sure there are many other issues that are important as well... always ask is this something I would want for myself-my family as well as the other citizens of this great nation.... by the way drink Stag beer....

Interesting
I find your post very condescending to Track. I feel that Track is more than capable of explaining himself. Is you lack of confidence in Tracks abilities a form of your own predigest ? It certainly seems that way to me.

like said ethnocentrism is alive and well, actually supported all that Track said, just expanded upon it.... agree with what he said, course we see what we want to see-read what we want to read and that becomes are reality.... only a Black man can fully understand racism from the inside out....
no intent to condesending, course so may have that intent though....

Track we can all relate to that feeling. It doesn't mean that you hate white people because you get angry at what to you seems a slight.
But please keep in mind that a White guy or a Hispanic can feel the same anger. That doesn't mean its a race thing in any of those cases it's just a angry thing. We all feel that anger on occasion it's up to us to decided what we do with that anger. It's up to the other guy to try and understand it. You can't blame him if he fails to understand what you don't say.

Example

I feel anger when someone else feels the need to speak for you, I have confidence in your ability to speak for yourself. To me that is saying that you lack the ability. I don't believe that for a minute. In this case I was standing up for you. This Doesn't mean I agree with you all the time <LOL> And I still think Obama SUCKS <LOL>

Jess,
you sure like make something out of nothing, see what never intended or exists.... if you add something to what someone stated about a lighfoot hound does that mean you think thaey are ignorant and thar your additional information is putting them down... don't think so, but to each his own, we believe what we want to believe regardless of reality... as always repect your ideas-thoughts, course may not agree with all of them, but still value them...

he has not hidden this at all, if you are educated to understand it. the problem was that many of the people in this country do not even no what this country is supposed to by all about. an island of liberty in a sea of tyrants. but the enemy has come ashore, i have seen him, he is us. we have a population were 50% pay NO income tax at all, have no skin in the game and only looking to grab more of the others skin.

i may strongly disagree with obama on philosophical terms but i can never call him a hypocrite, at least on philosophical terms, he NEVER REALLY hides his communist leanings if people will just listen to his words and watch his actions.

come on track, i just met you one time and just from that one meeting i can tell you i know a whole lot more white folks i'd distrust before you. i think your being a little harsh with the blanket statement. i do agree it's a shame for all colors, IF that is a problem to the individuals involved. i prefer plain old budweiser myself.

rrs- mispelled "political" .....to dazzle the numbers with your extreme brilliance....please proof read or use spell check. I believe your politico-experience is nestled deep in the roots of literature. In other words, pull you head out of your backside and a book and grow up. Stick your head out the door and see that the world is surreal....only a black man can experience racism...please. Having been spit at, called everything, but, the individual I am by a certain race everytime I responded on a call and passed over for a couple positions/jobs because I wasn't black, asian, hispanic or a women....I believe I have a slight "understanding" of "racism." Having grown up in the late 60's and early 70's I believe I EXPERIENCED racism. I know what a race riot is. You on the other hand have spent too much time in a book and can only relate to film footage tainted by the author.

Mr. President, do you honestly think you can dig this Great Country out of the mess George Bush has dumped on us.

Good luck........................But, it will take 2 terms to get a good start on it...................................................Tim

Hey John! Hellcat i agree that whites and hispanic do get angry. Sometimes you should read the book before judging. Here in camden we are having a problem of what some call white flight. I believe that those kids should be able to go to school anywhere. A school that's 100% black should be able compete to with any school if not maybe people need to look at the man in the mirror. I watched a whole neighborhood turn from white to black and it hasn't been the same. Responsibility is the key. It easier to play the blame game. Budlite please!

randy,
sorry offended you with my poor keyboarding skills... should have made clear that racism can be directed at majority as well as minority members, was referencing only a black person could understand racism directed at blacks from the inside out.... believe me have experienced a great deal of life in many-many situations-apects, but have read a book or two as well. thanks for your correction....

Good Post
rrs is the type of guy who believes everything that the books he reads tells him. The problem may be the books that he chooses to read.

Good Guy I am sure, but original thought based on experience ? I have not seen that from him. I detest the white liberal who claims to understand the idea of being black more than the black man.
I am not black, but like you I understand that prejudice is not limited to being black or Hispanic. It can be Profession, Position, Income or a million different things. However you only experience prejudice if you are out in the real world doing real world things. I enjoy taking the low tech vs high tech approach with rrs.
