Then bring your poodle up here and we will run it in our city parks! I was stationed all over the US for twenty years and I saw coons dead along the road in every state, so don't give me this Bull$h@t that one has to go a 10 miles one way to find a coon. I usually don't even bother to humor people who make these ignorant posts, but I guess I finally got tired of people making stupid comments. You don't even have a name of a state on your post, so how can we come to your house and put our humble hound against you cull? As far as your southern woods go, big deal I hunted the infamous hell hole swap in SC and although I didn't win my cast, my dog treed just as many as the guide's dog did. He swam through the water, he tracked in the mud, he put his feet up on Spanish oaks and barked treed just like the southern dogs.
This post started out talking about abilities of dogs from state to state, not who is a candya$$ hunter and who isn't.

A coondog (NOT COONHOUND) is a coondog where ever you drop them..Just some are better than others..

I posted this because I don't understand,We don't have big mountains here, but we do have, Swamps,Rivers,Lake Bottoms,30 foot drop offs, brush,Birrars, thorn apple patches,Cattail swamps,Creek bottoms,Hard woods,Cedar swamps,AND THERE IS COON IN ALL OF IT,So if you have to have some super natural mountain climbing, water swimming, swamp jumping flying dog that has to go miles to find a coon why in the world would you even turn a dog loose, sure we have spots where coon a thinner than others BUT GUESS WHAT? I DON'T HUNT THERE,WHY WOULDN'T YOU FIND A DIFFERENT SPOT,I have been in all those spots that I mentioned, but its not hard getting a dog in there, its hard to get my fat but in there,Its like this we turn loose in a corn field full of coon, Dogs take track down out of the corn into a swamp, across a stream, back in another swamp, across a river then threw a thorn apple forst, threw a sand pit, then threw a over grown clear cutting full of more thorns, up a big hill threw a small patch of hardwood up just about straight up 30 feet, and end up treeing in a fence line with one small cherry tree the only tree within 50 yards that can hold a coon , end up 1/2 mile from where you started and pretty much covered everything that this county has to offer,Has anyone from Michigan not had this same exact Run,you probaly thinking that I've been with you aren't you,I know this because Mich. is like this all over it.

Well, Jeffery A, Joe S, & Matty G,

you all need to load those SUPER DOGS up & head on down to TEXAS ( Don Richter) SLICK TREE'S place or CLAY LAUTZENHISER'S place & see if your theory is TRUE????????????????????????? They both have offered you an INVITATION to come & HUNT.

I didn't stay at a HOLLIDAY EXPRESS last night, but I did notice in the official UKC magizine "COONHOUND BLOODLINES" the names & pics of alot of GOOD COONHOUNDS (HOUNDS) but not many COONDOGS ( MIXED BREEDS OR NON-HOUNDS) LOL.

Does mid Indiana sound far enough south to you guys?

I don't do snakes

I lack a dog that could tree a coon in any condition... so I'm just watching the bickering!

Dang Slick,

I'm sure SORRY, but I thought everyone knew your name?

I would like to think that this is all in fun. I know that I don't have any hard feelings toward anyone on here, not even REDTICK OR THE SHEEPSTER when they were on here. I guess some people just don't appreciate a sense of humor & some kidding back & forth, about each persons OPINION, right, wrong, or in between, LOL.

Well yes I would bring a dog or 2 , I would expect to be able to hunt a dog unless someone would say "I would rather not you to turn your dog loose here",I'm not all up tight about hunting I do it because I like it, some days are better than others,

Sounds like a plan to me..Maybe you should come the week of the winter classic..You could stop here and hunt then head down and hunt the classic...

I hunted the Peg dog that Brian Sanders got from Joe Newlin down there. The cast was out of Nicholson kind of middle of the state from what I could tell.
