Big 3.......

they need restructuring, not handouts........ if the Gov bails them out, who will be next.....

I'm having it tough, I'm pinching pennies and having to do without.... it want hurt the fat cats to do the same for a while.... cut the CEO's pay, do away with ALL bonus, trim fat from top to bottom.... restructure the contracts and get back to work....

it won't kill the workers to start budgeting to live on $20.00 an hour ($55.00 including benefits) instead of $33.00 an hour ($77.00 including benefits)

trim $13.00 off hour wages and $9.00 (per hour) benefits, gives them $22.00 an hour savings... that will get them all started in the right direction.......

I don't want to hear any of the bullcrap either... the Auto workers want everything to stay just like it is especially their "WALLETS"... the rest of us are suffering, why should my tax dollars go to make it so you don't have to alter your present life styles??????????
if you like working for 1 of the Big 3, take a reduction in hourly pay and keep your job or get another job......

I agree 100%.. Just because we dont work for one of the 3 dont mean we dont have to pay our health insurance and the other same ol crap they are paying..I didnt get them in this mess and dont care one bit about having to bail them out..If they dont like it.Tell them to get another job somewhere.Maybe THEY picked the wrong profession to be in!!!!

I think if the Big 3 can afford to buy ballfields, give money every weekend during games and sponsor all the different types of marketing that they do that they should maybe learn to start cutting back. I know it would hurt the country to let these companies fail, but if they go into bankruptcy they would be allowed to restructure the entire operation and start over like the rest of the country forced to file a bankruptcy. I beleive the auto workers are overpaid, but it's not there fault. If you have someone telling you take more money, you would do it everytime! But when the goodtimes come, adjust like the rest of us and move on. At least they still have a job to go to. And for the one's on here posting that their are plenty of jobs out there right now?? Please show me where to find them!!!

Just out of curiosity, how many people on here would buy a vehicle from a bankrupt company?

thats the key to getting the big 3 back on track, tell all these dumb idiots who took on mortgages they couldnt afford that if they a buy a car from the big 3 aget their loans from thier financing arm that if the company goes under they get to keep the car and not have topay back the rest of the note. if they werent smart enough to figure out how much house they could they are certainly dumb enough to believe this. car sales would sky rocket.

btw, the govt already has plans to back the warranties and financing of the automakers if they go throgh chapter 11 if that is what you are getting at

Do any of you really believe that the big 3 automakers are really going to go under in the first place? These companies have been around for a while, and if the Great Depression didn't do them in then I don't imagine there going anywhere anytime soon no matter if they get the bail out or not??? Think about it..they've been in the industry since the beginning of the automobile and have faced many struggles that make this look small in comparison??

That is kinda what I was getting at (the govt. has a plan for everything don't they) but there was a local poll and the #s weren't to encouraging as far as people buying vehicles from a co. in bankruptcy

you all need to do some more reading onthe net

from what i been reading is they want to help the big3
but there is stuff "added to the bill that if passed'" will give raise's to people(congress i think)
not got nothing to do with the big 3 plus other stuff tacked onto the bill to sneak a free ride that also got nothing to do with the big 3 problem,,

the big problem on the bill to help the big 3 is

"all the freeloaders trying to hitch a ride on the bill to help the auto people"
