ben-wipe,
no offense or attack intended.... the vast majority of the world accepts the negative impact of carbon discharged into the atmosphere including the bush administration.... far more than a democrat plot... why would a political party want to destroy the economy of the u.s., what sense would that make, what benefit would there be for such.... why would the world agree to combat carbon emissions if none existed, has the whole world been mislead by the democrats... again, sorry if offended you, never intended to do so....

Ask Bill Clinton , Al Gore and other leading Democrats who said that is what had to happen to combat carbon emissions. Leading Democrats have said for years that the only reason Socialism failed is that it want properly funded. Funny that very recently leading Democrats have openly stated they wantesd to take over the leading corporations and use their money for Democrat Programs. Connect the dots, you will find out why,

makes no sense, is nonsense... gore and especially clinton have benefited from capitalism, countries that are more socialistic in nature have total funding to support programs... socialism has never been totally implemented- communist countries have always been an oligarchy with domination of the many by the few for the benefit of the few.. marxist theory is social economics where the oppressed would throw off the chains of domination when a collective conscious evolved and would be need for a gov't. control... has never-will never happen.. never pure any form of economics in practice-only theory... without question that capitalism has been is the desired and most successful form of economics and total socialism will never replace it, but programs of a social nature to benefit the many have-will play a role in almost all countries-societies...

So what did Bill Clinton mean earlier this spring when he said that the American econom needed to slow down to help combat global warming?

What did Al Gore mean when he said at a MTSU speaking appearance that the American people were going to have to sacrifice and come down a few rungs on the ladder to help save this planet?

What did Al mean when he said that gas in America was too cheap? Preminition of things to come? Perhaps he knew what economic situation the Democrat strategy was helping create.

I agree 100%, but some are a little dirtier than others. I have a hard time supporting a political party that has an outside, socialist group funding much of their campaign.

regardless of who states it, we need to consume less of the world's resources, conservation as well as new sources a must, we, as well as the rest of the world, private-public sectors have a responsibility to not pollute-clean up the environment which will have a cost factor... our economy is no longer the only game in town, india-china-russia-europe are big players now-we must recognize that and work with-not against the rest of the world... all for more energy production, but if only fossil fuel is the source-short sited-will fail, need alternatives and conservation... complex problem that requires solutions-not just blame....

LOL! China, and the other big producers refuse to abide by the new Kyoto and clean air reg's yet the UN thinks WE are the only ones that need to do so.
I am sorry to bust your bubble, but no other country is going to slow down and hurt their economy to "save the world". Fossil fuels are here for the ling haul. I dont see any other countries cutting their production of oil to help "save the planet".
What is happening is all by design. Cripple America's economy, put the average American in a HUGE Financial bind, and make a Socialist Govt more appealing to the American population.

believe we did not embrace the treaty, bush the great uniter-only a divider... not slow down economies-just the rate of pollution, should apply world wide, not just here... how is controlling pollution a socialist plot... working together for the good of all is not socialism, rather reciprocity... fossil fuel alone is like fool's gold, need to develop it, but not the total answer, as said-alternatives-conservation part of the equation... again, blame-blame, no longer the game, but solution is going to be the winner...

The only side I have seen looking for a solution is the Conservatives. All I have seen from the left is tax, raise prices, raise gas prices even more, and blame big oil for not producing enough even though the left themselves have done everything they can do to stifle any attempt at helping the situation.

Say what you want, but oilis here to stay. Nothing will ever replace it and be as easily developed, aquired and produced and be as cost efficient as it is.

The only reason the Democrats are fighting to keep gas prices high is the elcetion. They know most voters are too ignorant to know how this economy works., When they see the gas pump prices they balme it on the current party in the White House and will remember that when they vote this fall. The Dem's know that if the gas prices fall now the Rep's would have been responsible for it and the Dem's wouldnt have a chance at winning this election.

Senior Democrat Strategist Bobe Beckles(sp?) said this very thing on a radio talk show last week. The Dem's arent stupid, they just bank on most voters being stupid.

problem is both sides, if really is such are looking not seeing... cannot drill our way to energy independence period, big oil has many-many millions of oil leases that can- but do not tap, go get it period, yet they just moan-want more while gw is still in office, all for developing new fields-drilling, but utilize what is available-don't blame for what is not true-can get much of what already have... still need alternatives-conservation, have 3% of oil reserves-use well over 25%, won't work drilling alone, pretty simple math... will take 10 yrs. to drill new sources-hedge for future profit, not a solution for independence... again support increasing domestic exploration-refining-production, but must couple with wind-solar-nuclar-coal-hybrid-hydrogen and conservation... solution is key, not whining-blaming, need leadership to do so, not more finger pointing...

non competive contracts being granted to the biggest oil companies to do business in iraq, they have been out of the loop for the last 36 yrs... the kurds may seek the best deal possible in that region... don't think no bid contracts are the way captalism is supposed to work, but practice-theory not the same.... lot of oil there- would think it would increase supply thus lowering the price... guess time will tell if iraq supply will benefit the consumer as well as the big six of the oil industry...

I hear alot of gripe about the no-bid contracts. Funny thing is Bill Clinton was giving Halliburton no bid contracts all over the world long before the first Democratdecided to gripe about it.

Iraq should give us 50% of their oil at a VERY cheap rate for 100 years for what we have done and sacrificed for them.

never complained about no bid, just that it does not fit the capitalistic model advocated by the conservative minded economic minded... gw has mastered it here-and helped extend it to iraq...
agree that we should get iraq oil at a discount for many yrs. for our efforts. may be just wishful thinking though...

DRILL HERE, DRILL NOW, PAY LESS!!!!!! peroid

the liberals (democrats) want to socialize the oil industries.... they are socialist, don't care what u say..... in the last week two democrats had slips of the tongue, they let the cat out of the bag as to what their real agenda is......

the day after the idiot says they want to nationalize oil industry, he is agrueing that he didn't say it, that his statement was taken out of context.... LOL they played his 1st interview back to him, LOL..... he didn't have anything else to say......

DRILL HERE, DRILL NOW, PAY LESS....... the % of Americans that agree with this is rising every day... it's a matter of time before the demo's see the writting on the wall, Gore and his tree huggers will take a back seat..... rrs maybe Gore will let you sit beside him......

hey I agree we need to look for alternatives, but they are not going to come along in the next 5 yrs.... we, I need relief NOW!! it is getting to the point where I can't aford the gas to go to work....

we have the liberal media and education systems shoving down our throats a defeatist, america sucks and is going to hell in a handbasket message, and alot of folks are too stupid to see through it. youstill haev every opportunity to be what ever you want to be in this country and make as much money as you want to make, if you do not do it, its YOUR fault not the govts. it doesnt matter if usa demand for oil drops off, there are emerging economies that will take all the extra they can get wether its 100/barrel or 150. other countries are getting rich on oil while we are going broke because of it. its time we drill to ease the pain until we can find alternative sources. global warming is a hoax.

there are folks in this country that hate america and the majority, and unfortunatly one of these might actually be our next president. and please tell me what this CHNAGE is going to look like we so frequently are hearing about. i dont want change, i just want things to go back the way they use to be.

I would like to know the answer to this question myself.... change change change.. what changes are they planning on making that will better this country??? the only thing the idoits have said they are going to do, is they (he) is going to raise taxes & taxes oil profits (all that will do is drive up the price of gas).. Carter tried it & it failed... I can handle 4 more yrs of Bush better than 4 yrs of Jimmy Carter.....

the answer is.......

yes I can!!!!! Bush isn't the problem now... it is your beloved "cave to the tree hugging global warmers" party, the democrats..... at least with McBush, we will be drilling domestic oil, building refineries and continue with the tax cuts.... with a demo controlled congress and baraktrack obama, we'll no get tax cuts (instead HIGHER taxes), no drilling and no refinneries........

funny how Bush sends out check in May to boost the economy and the demo's criticized the plan, bad mouthed and said it would do nothing for the economy, then a last week obama said he was going to send out another check to further boost the econ and you'd think it was the 1st time it had ever been done.... everybody is all cheers... well if it was a bad idea and didn't help in May, why would it help now???????? another example of politics at it's best..... it's all BS

guys we are in trouble no matter who gets elected..... it is time to abandon the two party ships..... we'll ahve to saty on board for the Presidents seat (it's to late to do anything there), but when we elect senators & congressmen, we have got to vote anything but rep or demo..... congress is where the change can be made, it doesn't matter who is in the white house... congress will have to change and President whoever will have to follow!!!!!!!!!!
