I just received a call from hubby. He said the coons were thick and they were some great people and dogs up there. We hunted with Sadie in the 1st round last year and she made the final 4. She was a nice dog. Hard to believe she didn't get through. Just goes to show how difficult it is to get far 2 years in a row.

Losing in the by yourself round is nothing but bad luck. I suppose it is possible that a dog that can't tree a coon by itself could get that far but the odds are astronomical against it. On any night, any dog can hunt in thick coon for 2 hours and not show a coon. Den trees, thick foliage, coons that just won't look, etc. Losing in the Thursday late round is nothing but just bad luck.
