Mold, which is in itself a living organism is not affected by the genetic structure of corn. The simple fact is that you have discounted the ability of Mold itself to become resistant to our attempts to control it.
Warmer clients, high humidity and moisture lead to increased mold. Could it be possible that the wetter than normal conditions may have lead to the inability to harvest the crop, hence the corn in the field, hence the higher mold, hence the "dead deer"....????
There is no proof that genetic engineering of corn leads to a higher mold spoor crop.
