I just cant figure why no top pups have been born out of the semen. Some reproducing females have been bred to it, but very few to none of the pups are showing up at the Super Stakes, Futurity.

I just believe that it is today's females, because Lipper seemed to cross average to above average on all bloodlines.

Could it be that the pups are priced so high that they are not getting to the men who are great pup trainers?

the price of the seman and the price of the pups is why you dont see that many pups going to the real trainers(coonhunters)

when lipper was alive and breeding
coonhunters had them and along comes someone with enough money to buy the good trained pups and start promoting them like they done the training themselves,
changing the names so they could take the credit ...

thats why you dont see them good ones now ,the poorboy that coonhunt cant afford them now..

Brad hasn't turned a dog loose since Hide died (antifreeze), I'm sure he would sell some of the semen.

I kept hide here part of the time, I probally hunted him more than he did.

there was a few pups from Hide that Brad had that looked impressive but Brad lost interest and they went to waste

But thats just my opinion.

Good luck on getting pups! I've seen men spend alot of $$$ on breeding to this Lipper semen, and not get the first pup. It seems to be a crap shoot

Russell, how many lipper semen pups have you seen for sale?personally i know of none! How many dogs directly off lipper and directly off lipper semen have you been to the timber with?also there are other pups off some high caliber crosses such as stylish harry and nailor crosses that are just as expensive.Sounds to me you would like to have a lipper semen pup but dont want to pay the price or cant.Sometimes sacrifices have to be made.I have a suggestion.i bred my Sackett jr. female to SKUNA RIVER FRED last summer. He is line bred HOUSES LIPPER and he is reproducing with the right females.I have four pups out of this cross that are outstanding coondogs!excellant noses, track power, and consistantly accurate. You can breed to Fred for $400.00 or purchase a weened pup for the same.I will definetly be breeding back to him in the future!

Money is not the problem. But why should i spend my $1000-$1500 on a pup from a cross that nothing has been produced from? The only cross i have seen on Lipper semen that reproduced a big winner was the cross Cade and TJ are from, and that cross was made what, 5-6 years ago. There are pups that i would give a high price tag for, but not for a cross that has only produced a handful of dogs. Thanks for the heads up on the Skuna River Fred bargain, but i think i'll pass for now

You have me thinking on how many Lipper dogs and Lipper semen dogs i have hunted with. I think ive only hunt with around 8-10 off Lipper, and 3-4 off the semen. I liked what i saw in the dog's i hunted with off Lipper, but i cant make a judgment on what i have seen from the semen pups. They were young dogs, probably 10-15 months old, and none were doing anything yet

Lipper pups wasn't known for starting early unless it was from one of those females that reproduced good pups from everything she was bred to.

the best thing that lipper contributed to the walker breed was a bigger mouth and more stamina when running DEER.

LOL i like that Stamina. They will run one out to the road where i can catch & correct, instead of running it in a circle for 3 hours.

Lets face it boys Rattler put Lipper in the hall of fame and vise verses. Crossing those crazy track driving last coon up or look for anouther track lipper bitches on rattler finely put the brakes on them. Remember he only prodused 7.9% when he was alive so it takes alot of pups to get a good one....

MAYBE IT'S SIMPLY BECAUSE THAT THE COMPETITION IS BETTER TODAY THAN WHAT IT WAS THEN???

COULD THAT BE THE REASON?
