Thanks Micheal. He is not the prettiest thing I have owned but he looks good on the wood!!! He is a track driving machine and has a huge locate. He has missed a couple lately but not an outlaw at it. Cotton is in heat so ole Major is gone get the hunting for the next few weeks. I hopefully will be thinning down on dogs in next couple weeks. Dixie is going back to Rick Marcus in Georgia and Stroker will be headed to Tennessee next Friday. Got my female pup out of Razor and Lady , and I will be keeping 2 males from Logan X Dixie, and I will be getting a pup from Logan X Bell. I will be picking up a MAD -DOG pup out of John II and Shelly Saturday. Both are GrNtCh , so the pup has a good background behind him. Got to finish my pup pen. Will have my hands full in a few months. I am excited at the direction I am headed at Southern Bluetick Kennels. Just need a little luck for it all to work out, but at least I have a plan for the next several years. I feel like I have acquired some of the best blood in the country but they also got to make the kind of hounds I expect or they won't make the cut. Time will tell!! In the meantime , I will just hunt the hair off their eyes and the toenails off their feet. Y'all Keep'em Lookin' Up!! Darren

HUNT

Me and Drake hunted last night for a little while. Good and cold for sure!1 First drop we cut BB, Major, and my old Lady gyp that just weaned her pup a week or so ago. BB struck followed by Major and Lady. They worked and old bad track and Major soon located. He didn't settle and moved on down the bottom. BB soon loaded up and stuck it. She was alone when we got there but it was slick. We sent her on to Major and Lady. The track wasn't very good and soon started to fall apart. Lady located and treed and soon was backed by BB and Major. We got to the tree and they missed him. DANG !! 0 for 2!! We made another drop and cut BB and Major loose. They went about 500 yds and opened a few times and fell treed. We got in there and it was a den tree. 0 for 3!!! Unusual for BB to miss very many times but no coon seen!! We cut them off that tree and they left out. They ended up over 1000 yds in a bad swamp. We drove around and they were bumping around on a cold track. I finally walked in and called them to us and we called it a night. Reckon these kind make you appreciate the good ones. Y'all Keep'em Lookin' Up!! Darren

Hunt

Rode over to Batesville ,Ms yesterday to the winter classic. We went on a pleasure hunt with Rubert Morgan. Pretty hunting but coons had stirred early. We struck a couple had tracks but couldn't get one on the outside. Picked up two pups for a buddy of mine ( Keith Sparks) good lookin pups out of dual Grand Rogers Blue Rebel. Also picked up a pup from Gerald Everett out of GrNtCh Pr Smokey River Mad Dog John II and GrNtCh Pr Everett's Mad Dog Shelly gyp. He is a big headed , big headed pup. Time will tell. Y'all keep'em lookin up. Darren.

your right darren, monday night will be cold. The night to go after them critters looks to me like is tonight(sunday). It figures the first good night we have had in a while and I'm at work. run em hard and good luck. hey if you get one knocked out take it home and let ole stroker have a sniff....

was just flipping throught the results at winter classic. Looked to me like it was a black & tan coming out party. I havent seen that many black hounds on a leaderboard in a while. congrats to all those guys and their hounds. My grandpa always liked a good black dog so i kinda got a soft spot way back in my hunting heart for those ole dogs.

HUNT

Hunted for a little while last night. Wind and cold didn't make for a good hunt. We struck a bad track and finally got treed but Mr. Coon wasn't at home. Major has missed a couple bad tracks here lately. Next drop Major struck and BB and Matt Smith's Gyp put in with him. BB was half hearted and I was skeptical that it was a coon. BB quit and it was soon obvious Major was running that speed beef. I drove around and that TRITRONICS slowed things to a complete halt!! Major came out looking for the truck. HE did a good job of running that sucker but that ain't gone cut it around here! Y'all Keep'em Lookin' Up! Darren

Cold

Myers I heard bout that pup. Sounds good and I hope he makes you a good one. We will go hunting soon. I took over the Hamilton club again so I will be up there a lot.

Gerald we are staying on them. Ole Maniac is settled in good and has a good personality. Big headed and big boned pup. We gone put the pressure on him in a few months.

Put some extra hay in the box for ole Blue!! Cold for the next several days!! It is going to be cold tonight. We are going to go after them and hopefully have a better hunt than Monday night. HUNT

8 degrees last night when I put the dogs in the kennel. I must not be the sharpest knife in the drawer hunting last night. Drake and myself cut Major alone last night on first drop. He hunted out good and made a circle and came up the side of the creek. We just caught him up. Next drop we cut BB alone. She didn't hunt well at first but finally ranged out to about 700 yds. She never opened and we caught her coming down the creek. Last drop we cut Major and BB loose. They got deep in a hurry and struck an old sorry track. They worked their way up an old ditch towards a paved road. They moved the track out good but got close to the road. We drove around and they were trying to cross over onto some land I don't have permission to hunt. We loaded them up and called it a night. I will be glad when this weather warms up a little and we get out of this deep freeze. Y'all Keep'em Lookin' Up!!!! Darren

HUNT

Well it didn't get much better here last night. Me , Drake , and Matt Smith went for a little while. We cut BB and Matt's gyp Sadie on first drop. BB went about 250 yds and fell treed. We didn't find coon, there was a big bay tree on one side and a den on the other but we didn't see him. Next drop I cut Major alone and he hunted out about 250 yds and came back in a field. I caught him and we cut BB and Sadie with him. They struck a bad track and worked him out of the bottom in the hills. It went in the ground and BB and Sadie came out. Major went on and struck something wrong but quit it and came out on road. We caught them up and called it a night about 11:20. It is supposed to be 50 degrees today and 60 Sunday. Hopefully coons will start to stir at regular times. Y'all Keep'em Lookin' Up!! Darren

Drake and myself hunted last night in a ACHA hunt up at Marion County Sportsmans Club. My cast didn't see a coon. Made two dens. Drake hunted BB and made a bad call. His cast winner had 175 +. Can't win if you don't hunt. We will try again. Y'all keep'em lookin up. !!! Darren

Hunt

Me,Drake ,and Matt Smith went for a hunt last night. Cotton is still in heat so we took Major and BB. Matt had his Sadie gyp. First drop we cut all 3 dogs. BB came across something she didn't like and didn't hunt well. Major struck in at about 275 yds and worked a bad track. He went left and came back up ridge towards us and fell treed. BB and Sadie went in and backed him. He had meat and we rolled it out to Matts pup. Next drop they looked like idiots and came out on a Powerline and ran it for a ways. We caught them and moved. Next drop they struck quick and BB treed followed by the other two. Den tree. We cut off that tree and they got deep again. Major loaded up and BB backed him. It was a big bay tree joining another bay tree. Couldn't find him and called it a night. Y'all keep'em lookin up. Darren
