When ever work's Jake,we're ready. "Bum" is pretty worn down from the hunt last night & his previous adventure's.
Hunted up at Wilton last night. They made a turnout that resulted in a slick & some hole's. A good bit of minus point's was issued & the dog's was all leavin bloody track's.
Even had one handler they thought they was gonna hav'ta call med flite for but he got'er down into granny low & after a few steep mountainous deep snow covered slope's (I heard?) he hit the pavement with steam just a rollin...LOL!!
"YEP",he was done & the other's withdrew as well so left da "Bum" with 55 minutes to hunt alone with no minus. A dream type situation if it wasn't 5 degree's & on into the night.
We topped a hill & there was two coon in the road! "YEP" heavy brake pressure applied. One went left & the other to the right. Matt put him on the one to the right & he took it to a junk pile 50 yards away . Fetched him outa there & put him on the other & he smoked that in there 780 yards as the grow flies to a crevice that was big enough for the guy's to crawl in part way but couldn't see the coon ......
If ya see um on the road & they go 50 yards to a hole & then ya can't see'um is a bummer & the way the ball bounce's as they say! We had a great time, destoyed a few toe's & pad's to keep them walkerdawg's gimped up for a while . Hunted in some extreme condition's & the fourth night in a row of zero type weather doesn't lend well to coon movement. They tried & did the best they could. Cuttin at dark woulda helped the cause but that don't happen in a hunt. "Bum" had his usual lil touch of blood around a few nail's but struttin pretty good today......
Why couldn't just one of them road coon of clumb a tree....................
Where's the next one?....LOL!!
Went to Boone Brandau's place & latched onto a couple pup's outa "Lady" & "Patch". I was wantin female's & he had one left. Matt & I was watchin them & a male was catchin our eye.
Ever seen a pup that just say's "TT", " DUDE,Me & you need'ta become one ? Even if it's a male & you really don't have no desire to add in another male ?
One other time I recall a similar gig with a male pup when Mitch put that picture of "Bum" on here as an infant bein held by the massive pipe's attached to the King of Pain. Sumthin 'bout their overall appeal draw's me like a magnet & I just can't help myself...
He's scamperin around with his sister & the rest of the pack like they been here all their life in the holler. Even hung out with me while we watched "Leroy" whip a few cookies & firin at the sky with his rear end. He's pretty spunky & I got him so I don't need a leash,"Leroy" that is. Follow's me around with the lil Bludawg collection & come's to an ice cream bucket as I do but he prefer's Sweet stuff in his !
Big beautiful head, awsome big hangin ear's,heavy boned & straight legged, powerful back,my kinda rear leg set & the type of personality that get's you clingin to'um,or me anyway.
Gonna be an extremely good lookin rugid built hound with the family's athletic, built for speed appearance. A lil excited 'bout him for some reason? Sometimes ya gotta follow your gut I guess........
One thing though, they was raised in a barn with cattle in it. That's awsome & all of them very out going & usta rukus & stuff.
The bad part is they been causin me to have flash back's of my dairy'n day's, You just don't forget that odor...LOL!!
"SHOWER TIME"!
