no i have not found one yet,i have found a briar creek zeb male 25 monts old that is treeing coons so they say, i may try him don't know if he is what i need to train pups with or not probably need something with more experience............

 Nathan

I put Shy in her first night hunt last night - she did great - saw 5 or 6 coons... She would have won the cast if she hadn't treed with two other dogs on a possum. Lost a good many points on that one! Then, on her last tree, she split alone and we had to circle it bc I couldn't find the coon in the leaves - it was in a bad spot. Got lots of compliments on her hunting. She got first tree several times. I was very pleased with her - we'll definitely be putting her in more soon...

We're taking her and Heckler out tonight - will let you know how they do. Can't wait til Heckler is ready for the hunts. He was with us last night and we heard him several times barking from the truck - he wanted to go bad!

Had Heckler out last night. We released a coon, then took him out and let him loose... He followed the coon track into the trees from the field we were in, and... we didn't hear anything out of him for an hour lol

Finally, after driving around, calling for him, etc, we heard him - a looong ways off - treed. We drove as close as we could get, then walked about a half mile or so to him. He stayed put the whole time. When we got to him, he was in a tangled mess of briars, treeing on a big old cedar that had all kinds of vines and branches reaching to other trees. We couldn't find anything, but we petted him up and headed back home...

I think I was most impressed that he stayed put for as long as he did. May take him again tonight - I think we're just gonna start taking him hunting - no more games with the caged ones...

How's Trac coming along?

Guys they showed my son's pup out of Spot a coon earlier in the week and they said he WENT OFF!! They said he was hammering about 100 barks a minute. I plan on taking a coon up tomorrow and will try to get some pics and video. Not to shabby for a 5 month old pup!!

Here is Mainstreets Good Luck Chuck trying to get at a bad old Boar Coon the "pack" had bayed up under this rock in the creek!!!! I wish I had some more video of this, they were raising cane in the holler that day!!!

Heckler got his Best in Show with competition tonight... he has 70 points on the bench now, so we can expect him to be show CH before he is 8 months old!

We have gotten tons of compliments and had lots of interest in him at the shows/hunts. He will be well-known around here if I have anything to do with it!

I'm pretty darn tickled with his best in show tonight...

Saturday night was Maces first time in the dark. I put him in the woods with my buddys female. She has a litter of pups on her right now and shes mighty fat so we did not see a lot of action. She struck one and ran it for about 10 min and I guess she just couldnt keep up. She is a pretty reliable dog for Mace to be hunting with but she is still a little out of shape right now. Overall I was pretty pleased with Mace. He went with her right out of the box and stayed gone for a few minutes. He eventually came back though and stayed pretty close the rest of the time. Not under my feet but within hearing distance. He hunted his way around us with his nose on the ground almost the whole time. Just about what I expected being his first night hunt. I think if there had been a little more action he would have been right there with her. TN has set a new season this year starting Sept 18 instead of Nov. so I am looking for him to step it up once the hide starts hitting the ground.
