Went to a hunt last night for a little while and I do mean LITTLE WHILE. The club ask me to judge the cast and our guide said we were hunting close by. We drew some good people and good dogs-there was only one TW on the cast. I tell everyone if there ain't at least one TW-I'm not sure UKC will allow the cast to count. So we are all set-good looking spot, dogs are cast, two of them strike, mine comes back to me, one dog trees and mine took off. Well I am not on cloud nine at this point but it's early right. The dog struck in for 1st meets us on the way to the tree-OK 1 hundred minus-keep walking. This poor ole varmint had the mange-well thats what it looked like to me--it had eaten all the hair off his tail, bleached the fur out until his fur was just about white. I figured it was in pain cause it barely climbed up a little tree about big as your finger, poor little weak eyes and just grinning at us on that Nt Ch cast. I told the fella who had 1st tree that I wasn't to surprised that my dog backed his-seeing as how good his dog was and all. This did not lift his spirits much. It happens! John-I'm glad you and Eric got to hunt together. Joe keep sending me pictures. If I was a rich man I would have bought pups from Jake, Joe, Jeff, John and Dan. Good Hunting!

Heard this recently-"We don't quit doing things because we get old. We get old because we quit doing things." My grand mother told me-You will rust out before you burn out. Pretty much the same thought process. Things are feeling normal around here-hot and dry, working young dogs and killing snakes on a regular basis. One a night lately-Cotton Mouth mostly-about 10 to 1 over the other kinds of deadly ones. I can hear Terry Tucker and Jeff Timms saying-NO WAY! Did have something happen the other night that I had heard of but never experienced. On the way out of the woods, I noticed and eye on the ground, knew it was an animal of some kind and it was not moving. I asked everyone to lead their dogs over to the right away from where the animal was lying. It turned out to be a fawn. I'm two inches from it. Deer hunters worry about the population-I'll say it again-when they blow up earth, there will be cock roaches and deer running all over it. Some of our coon are wanting to stretch out a little bit which is fine with me-would rather tree them instead of pop ups any night. Fresh air and fresh water during your hunts will help insure your dog does not get overheated. You owe them that-don't you?

CW, we have had deer lying on the ground within 25 yards of the dogs treeing. I don't know why they didn't get up, but see this alot here.

When I leave this old world if I'm fortunate to end up-instead of down-I hope St. Peter or someone will pull me aside to go over my dog record after we have covered the more important stuff. During the 70's you began to show a little promise with Flatrock Blue Joker and then during the 80's your ability to access talent and assemble it for line breeding resulted in some nice hounds like Lazy J Blue Arkie Chief and Sadie. Approaching the 90's your quest for higher reproductive %'s put more Jet bred dogs in your pens-the CW dog, Flower and respective crosses culminated in 6 Again early in the next century. We knew you were enjoying your self. The rest (and I hope there is a lot more) will come later-I'm going to the woods now to make some more memories! Best day of my life so far.

Had the pleasure of talking to two current legends of our sport and breed yesterday. Talked by phone with Guy Ormiston to get some information he has made available. I try to remain conscious of time while asking Guy questions, his volume of work for the Bluetick breed and our history will be unequaled. Don't know how you can call yourself serious about breeding if you have not read his book. Spoke with Ed Mead ( no-e ) later in the afternoon and had a good visit about these Jet bred Purina fed Blue dogs. Pronunciations--Uchtman--(Oooochtman!)-the most mispronounced name in the entire coon hunting world. Terrence-we also see deer bedded down walking into trees-this was the 1st time for me walking up on a fawn like that. Much needed rain down here-looks like a bumper crop of muscadines for the coon are on there way. Rejet was bred to Ed's Hope female and we sure hope she is "piggy". John let us know about your female(s) Good luck to all of you raising pups -2012's pups may prove to be like those muscadines-a bumper crop of GOOD ONES. Maybe even a legend or two!!!

56 degrees in Macon, Ga. feels like Fall. Last year it was around 100 for the high. Dale Parker reports trouble with coyotes during a hunt and he is not the only one according to alot of people around the state and country. Our humidity is low and combined with the cooler temperatures is making things real comfortable in the woods, not near as much bug spray and sweat. We got a call from a land owner with a corn patch with trail cameras. He said please come down here and run some of these coons. Bobby Carter told him that we would be there by dark-we was. Some of my very first coon hunts were these kind , they were great then and they are great now. As for the rest of the day I'm gonna thank the man upstairs, talk with my boys and clean up the dog pens-let them hounds know I appreciate them too. Best day of my life so far. Here's hoping yours is too!

Ran a coon at first dark last night-best race we have had in quite awhile. Frankly we had been on some "bore you to sleep" hunts recently so this one was 180 out from those. Casey-I still have your feed bowl! Ed tells me Terry and Lady-a grand pup off 6 Again were recently credited with 2 first -great news. Hope to be hearing about wins and pups soon from several of you---Joe, John, Eric, Scott, Demond and the rest. Still moving at the speed of life down here-good luck to all-Best day of my life so far!

hi to all again!!!!still hot hot hot,it was 89 degrees last night at 930 turned buzz ad lotto lose got treed in appr 10 minutes couldnt find the coon in a bunch of maples. i think i found the pup i really like!!!! stebers southern blue lotto!! he is a deep mouth huge locate,and very nice tree dog,he seems to either be treed 1rst or be right there!!!this pup is outa buzz and sammy. sammy is outa bozz which was jet 6 X jet5s northern blue sky,he has me pumped up!!!hey eric you might do like me i said to heck with mowin and g huntin lol,you see the same dust cloud when you cut the dogs here!!!!! its wild lookin lol

My electric has been off for almost four days now, from the major storm we had. Now it's back on! Yippee, got A.C. Again!! Been hunting since the storm, and been having some pretty long chases, making for a great hunt. Like hearing them pups run. Just been hot and humid here, in the 90's. Be safe all.

again it must be nice to get rain they ot inch and a half 10 miles from me none at home again,glad ur power is on!!!! no air would be bad here!!! 100's here everyday ready for a break!!!my sammy dog is miserable due in 3 wks bred to will II.be safe be kewl!!!!
