Took the ladies out hunting last night after the Zone I meeting. Troy Young took Rose, Johnny Yoder had Kit, Robbie Brooks(Wisc.) had Blue Berry, Roy Clifton (KS) had Froggie, Doug Linn had Magic(puppy) and I had Cleo. It was cold and the snow had a hard crust that crunched with every step but a couple of old ones were out. The first track went about a half and they treed in a field tile and the second went through the section and we found them treed on split den trees. We didn't see a coon but it wasn't because the ladies didn't try. The females will really get on the wood and you didn't have to run to get to them......Tim

That little female is my GR CH Mad-Dog Lady, she will be in the hunts this year if all goes well.

Could you get me a 3 gen ped on Lady and Nikki? We are snowed in, got 5 inches last night. Looks like Kansas kill season is going to go out without us being able to go hunting because of the weather.

Matt,
Lady will be bred to John II sometime this summer. Her littermate sister GR CH Nicki is at Roy's house to be bred to Rooster II when she comes in. Nicki needs a 1st place to be a NT CH and Roy may hunt her in some hunts. I plan on finishing Lady in the hunts this year..........Tim

Just talked to Bary Raymond from Iowa and he let me know that he wants to be put on the list for one of the John II X Lady pups when the cross is made. These pups should be loaded with natural ability and have plenty of looks.........Tim

Roy,
One of the things that I look for in a breeding is what are the littermates doing. There were 4 females and 1 male in their litter. Barry Raymond has a female littermate to them that he says is a real tree dog that has plenty of looks and there is another one that is at Polo, Mo that is owned by a pleasure hunter that he likes real well. The male was also owned by a pleasure hunter and was killed last summer and he was a real nice hound. Thesr are the kind of females that I would not be afraid to get a pup out of......Tim

I agree, pups out of these two females and Turk and Rooster II would give everyone a chance at old Mad Dog blood with a new twist. Plus they will be easy to look at.

Tim- I think i finally have figured out this internet thing. lol. Both maggie and Lulu are doing great. From the size of both we will have a good mess of pups. There bellys are about draggin the ground. that Fanny May hound may be commin in. she is out of B&D's blue spike and wild-n-blue lou. Will have to watch her close. she is a hard one to breed doesn't show much sign of being in. Any sujestions on who to pair her with.

Hey Tim the more I think about that little Babe female the sicker I get! Hate to think of that happening to a good one but I guess it comes with game of hunting dogs. I'll call ya on Friday after I find out about the surgery and when I might be able to make it down.

Barry,
The Babe female was doing a great job, hard hunting, opened up good on a track and would be on every tree blowing the top out of them. She had a real good mouth and was a hard tree dog. To bad that her life ended at 9 mos old. She was out the Turk and Jim Combs Katie cross. The rest of the pups that I have heard of are doing great also.
