Took a couple of my 4 month old Logan and Hammerhead pups to someone who is going to work with them on all the yard work stuff that needs to get done before we start them in January if the weather allows. These pups are acting really good out of this cross.

Not really sure yet about Logan. I have had two guys that said they wanted to make some crosses here when the females come in but nothing yet.

Hope to Make the Banjo and Hammerhead cross and possibly a Banjo and Creek cross when the time comes. Not 100% yet on the Creek cross yet. I would rather hunt than raise pups but we will see.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. We have so much to be thank full for in this country. Please think about the Service Men and Women who will not be able to be with there family's during the Holidays. I was in the USMC many moons ago and also stationed in Japan at one time. The service men and women who are usually pretty young experience being away from home for the first time during the Holidays. You are right in that having others who are also there makes it much easier. Good to hear from you and take care.

Steve,
I think both of the crosses will be nice and am sure looking forward to getting back in the woods this upcoming week. I am hoping to get some nice ones to cross back on males like Bo and Tramp II down the road. I sure like the way those young males are progressing and should reproduce. You will not get better pedigrees on dogs for sure.

Had a light snow around supper time tonight and then took Creek and Slim out together for the first time in a year. They decided on the first drop to see who could get the farthest the fastest first. We had to get around to them and caught them up on the road. The next drop we cut them into a much larger section and they were both up on their hind legs smelling the air and when we cut them loose they got down in a drainage ditch and started raising heck. We shined way up ahead and could see a shadow of the coon running his way towards the road. He got into a small culvert and we were lucky the dogs could not get into it. Called it a night we are going to hit it again on Thursday night.

those are two good looking hounds. It makes this southern boy shiver to see them standing there in the snow. How is Slim doing. I was looking at his pedigree. Looks like he is bred good, but I'm not familiar with the dogs in his pedigree. Creek sure is looking good and I know what she can do. Take care Scott, good hunting.

I agree with MR. Jack, Creek and Slim are 2 fine looking hounds! They ran so far on that first drop because they were trying to warm up! Snow is sure pretty to look at but I'm going to stay in the briar patch! Take Care Scott and Good Hunting!

Jack and Steve,
Thanks for the nice comments on the dogs. It has been cold but as long as the snow keeps to a minimum we will keep hunting. The long run the other night must have got things going for Creek as she is now in heat so she will be on the bench for a few weeks.
Slim is doing good and will be hunted alone again for awhile. He had been hunted alone for the first part of the kill season and the neighbor boy got 40 coon with him so he has been coming along good. He is not two yet.

Had a nice hunt with Slim last night. Wind was out of the east and that usually means tough hunting around here. He hunted out good and struck a COLD feeder track off of a den tree. Worked it down a ridge and crossed a half frozen creek. He was breaking Ice crossing it. Worked up an oak ridge on the other side opening every now and then. Worked it out into a picked corn field about 400 yards before bringing it back up into the timber and settled in on the same pine tree and den tree that Creek treed the big black coon on. We let him tree for awhile and went in and saw what he was on. We shined the pine and the den tree that goes into it and could not see anything. It was a tough track but he stayed with it. We petted him up and went home. We will have him back out tomorrow night.

Had a nice conversation with Rick Jordan this afternoon. I am glad to report he is feeling much better as of late.
Anyone who is looking at breeding to Logan this year please PM me before the first of the year if you could. Logan is on the reproducers list and will be 11 years old in 2015. He was still producing nice sized litters last year. I believe he is now the last living pup out of what was an outstanding cross that I believe most if not all of the pups in that litter either made Grnite or Nitech.

I appreciate the thoughts and prayers of everyone while
I have been batteling a tick born infection. It turned out not
being lymes as first thought. The antibiotic to treat the infection depleted my B12 numbers so after a strong
regiment of B12 I am gaining ground every day.
