If a team decides to go with a smaller much quicker lineup against a much larger slower group of first string all Americans, they are going to run the bigger more "talented" team of all Americans out of the gym because theyre gonna be blowing by them to the basket all night. The only way for them to defend against it is to go to a zone and instead of trying to match speed with a team like that. Ive seen it way more often than not. Besides, whats all the talent in the world worth if pride wont allow the super egos to play team ball. To answer your question. NO, I wouldnt say they are more talented of a "team". Look at the Texas Rangers about 4 or 5 years ago. They had the greatest group of talent thats probably ever been assembled on one team and they absolutely sucked as a team!
North Carolia has 7 All Americans this year, look at them. I Never said Talent Made them a Good Team. But it is Generally thought, just like I said, that a Team will Zone because thay dont have the Talent to Play Man. As long as you have been around this Game, you should know that. The Only Coach right Now, I can think of, that Really Believes in the Zone, that will play it even though he has more Talent, is Bohiem of Syracuse. Teams Zone Kentucky because we Have More Talent, and if they dont, we Will Run Them out of the Gym.
