The name of the dog was treetop hollers pistol pete. I forget exactly which female he was out of but he was out of the very first cross they made with gauge.

I got a chance to Hunt Tomakawk a couple nites for Kevin. 3 drops, made 1 den with coon seen and two on the outside. These are the first two nites I have hunted this fall and I enjoyed the time with Tommy and breaking the silence of the night. Here's a few pics!!

Been working a lot but been starting to get outlaw tuned back up! He's maturing a lot and gonna be one tough cookie this upcoming year! Looking good on these cold nights, gonna hit a few pkc hunts up in next couple weeks

Danny,

I am glad you are enjoying Tommy. I may come a night early,on the way to the Grand American and have a farewell hunt with him as he is headed to South Carolina to live with Charlie Ethridge. I am sure he will enjoy him a great deal!!!

Gauge was almost going to be Tommy's nieghbor in the south but that has fallen through and will have to suffer through another winter up here!!!LOL

Just thought I'd drop you a line and a pic of Rage from Kansas. He is a Gauge x Sage pup. He is a small pup, but he is action packed. I have only been hunting him seriously for a few weeks now and I believe he is going to be pretty special. He gets to the timber quick and gets struck fast. He can really drive a track and will make you think he is running junk due to his track speed. He has a ton of drive and no quit in him. He started out split treeing from the old dogs and doesn't seem to care what the rest of the dogs are doing. He is being hunted by himself for the rest of the season. Oh...and he will show a little too... really enjoying him! matt noll

He sure is a beautiful hound I hope I get to hunt with him sometime. I had a Littermate to him here that I called Harvy. Harvy is in Ohio now being hunted by Nick Mares. If he makes the grade I know Nick will do his part on the handling. Harvy got some of Oppys tree style with that head way way way back. Stands in one place on the tree and trees. Are you planning on putting Rage in the nite hunts?

Yes, we plan on getting him in some hunts in the spring. He is going to be a classy tree dog. He loves to split and has been very accurate.

Pictures were taken from my phone so not the greatest. This is harvey treed at 700yds, by himself, with a coon! Harvey is a Gauge X Sage pup. Littermate to the Rage dog above. I will get better pictures on here eventually.

Just wanted to let you know the Smoke dog is doing a good job treeing these S.C. swamp coons. He just turned 14 months.
He is very indepedent and has about 90 barks a min.on the tree.

Looking foward to seeing you and a new female pup at Gr. Am.

Harold,
I'll take some pics tonight when I am feeding the dogs.
I am leaving tomorrow for Ohio to pick up Tommy for Charlie then heading south Early Friday AM. If you are close to Charlie I may go straight there so your pup wont have to be on the grounds at all. I believe he said he is about 50 minutes away.
If i bring Gauge down we will cut him loose a few times but I may have to bring a trailer with dog boxes as it is!!!!

Just wanted to take a second and thank those who stopped by for a visit at the Grand American.
That my friends is a long drive from Brasher Falls NY.
I wish all the folks with their new puppies, and Young dogs out of Gauge the best of luck with them and I look forward to hearing about them in the future!!
Craig Cooper now has Dual Grand Smokey River 6 pack and I hope he enjoys her as much as we did.
I went down with 3 hounds and 7 puppies and came back with 0.

My next roadtrip will be to Ashland!!!

Coon Hunting has stopped in the North country till the Ice leaves at least. Walking in the woods won't be alot of fun but at least the damage is no where near as bad as the storm from 1998.
