Mr. Fargo. If you have it on a 320 and then go to an ALPHA then yes you have to re-add it or vice versa.

If you have in on the 320 or ALPHA and your going back to the same unit, the most common problem is it is being turned on in the wrong mode.

Had several people buy one and the second time they turned it on they started it in the pairing mode. It will sit there and just fast flash until the try and add it again.

Quick puts of the off/on button should turn it on in the operating mode and the signal flash should be slow and steady till it hooks up to the satellites.

I have Garmin Alpha.

Always before when I have charged it, there has been a solid red light.

Today, the red light is flashing.

What is the reason?

Might try and make sure the collar is off, I have had one do the same thing when the collar was on. Or it could be a temp thing.

Another thing I have seen on my TT10 collars from time to time was when I went to charge them they would turn on automatically if they were not drained down enough. An upgrade may have fixed that, as I haven't seen it in sometime but then again I drain them down pretty good.

These dang things can cause a man to scratch the bald right the head lol I was about ready to give up on GPS until the 320 came out. did you get the Alpha Hillbilly or the 320, remember you saying it was about time. I have had the Alpha for quite sometime now and a boy was having trouble finding or figuring out where his dog were and the best way to get to them and I had forgot how to use it, ruined by the touch screen, he kept saying what are you doing, I said trying to move the dang map, he said well you got to use the bottons, guess he thought I had been in the pickle jar because I kept dragging my finger across the screen.....and maybe I was.

Now about those map cards, there are 2 of them, 100k and 20k. When I had the 220, the thing I had the most trouble with was the lines on the map....they were spaced to far away and I couldn't tell how dang steep it was.

When I got the 320 I kept my map card and loaded the southern states on it, much flatter down there and it worked fine. I then bought the other card and found it to be much more convenient and useful in these dang mountains. Most everyone here along the VA WV line uses the 20 k card which shows elevation a little better, I guess it depends on where in WV you are as to which you like the best. If you know someone that already has one or the other I would look into it.

Mr. Conkey can explain it much better than me I am sure, as I might be wrong about which shows more detail. I know I don't like the Alpha map as it doesn't show as much detail as a 20 K card, it is based on the 100 k, and I might have them backwards. I guess I could get the birds eye view which would probably be the best and may end up doing so. I know the Mt's here well so I use the compass as much as the map because of the lack of detail.

Now that you have read this I may have confussed you even more and now we both share that same kinda spot, just on different heads lol

I just bought a tt15 (i have an alpha and several tt10s) i turned the collar on and it "tones" (ringing noise) then started blinking red very fast. I have tried updating it, its up to date. Turning it on and off. The blinking red is supposed to mean its having charging problems. How do i fix this?

I have a astro 220 with dc 40 collars. It shows my collars moving even when they are not on my dogs. I can stand in my yard holding the astro with the collar laying on the ground & it shows the collar moving around the yard.

Bo if you have you map zoomed all the way in you will see movement. That is Satellite Drift. Zoom out just little and that goes away.

There are many power cords that will work in the astro 320. After a lot of testing and finding out many will affect the range of the ASTRO 320, garmin designed one specifically for it. The box it comes in has astro 320 on the side.
I would only use that one if it was me.

Here is an e-mail from a Garmin Engineer or the subject.

Hi Bruce,

I found and engineer who knew exactly what you were talking about. I tried to get as much information from you before going on the hunt to prevent getting any incorrect responses
This was the response I got;
We have found that some Vehicle Power Cables can affect the tracking range of the Astro 320. People wanting to use the Astro 320 on external power should order and use:

010-10851-12

This accessory is the one that should be used with the Astro 320. The packaging on this accessory lists the Astro 320.
I hope this is the information you were looking for. Let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Trying to figure out why you are asking this.
It is because in about 5 seconds the training page goes away.
If that is the reason just touch the push pin in the bottom right of the page and it will stay on the training page.

How far it is charging. I would charge it up and turn it on and see how long it runs. After cycling a few times everything should straighten out.

First I heard of this and first time I saw it on the board, I think. I wouldn't let this stop you from getting a T5. Someday you will be going to an ALPHA and you can take the T5 with you.

Got a question .Don't know if it has been asked already.
I currently have a 220.When holding it in front of me the antenna always correlates to the same position the pointer is pointing on the map page.
Two friends recently got 320's.I am helping them set them up.

Here is the problem ...I can not get the pointer on the map page on either 320 to point in the same direction as the antenna like my 220.
It never seems to point in the same direction either after rotating myself.
I have calibrated and tried different map preference settings. No change.

Any suggestions would be appreciated as to what we are doing wrong and need to do.

I've been having problems with my map. When I am looking at it it will zoom very far out.i have to zoom back in every time. I haven't changed anything. It is just annoying having to zoom all the way back in. Thank you for your help.
