That one got me to thinking Robert! lol
I consider there to be two Perryman lines. The line my grandpa bred, ending in April of 1983 and what I've bred beginning in May of 1998 - present. There's a fifteen year span in between that my dad and older brother kept going until I started.
If we're talking about Grandpa Doyne Ray's hounds, according to the dog papers I have of his, and from what I've been taught my whole life, Tahsuda's Arkie was the most influential sire in Grandpa's breeding program. According to those I've spoken to that hunted with him personally, he was also a coondog in his own right.
History speaks for itself as far as Tahsuda's Arkie is concerned.
My personal hounds?
'PR'Perryman's Blue Rowdy was and is the type I strive to reproduce!
I can't take credit for being the breeder of Rowdy. That goes to Mr. Jess Rogers!
Only one litter was ever raised out of him from my Lady female. But linebreeding those offspring have developed a uniform line as far as looks and ability extremely consistent to Rowdy himself! That, in my opinion, is what a reproducer is. Not just coon treeing offspring, but all showing his likeness and type!
'PR'Perryman's Blue Bawler would be a close 2nd! Bawler had outstanding ability in the woods as well as what he reproduced!
You'll see ol Bawler several times in the pedigrees of the dogs on this thread for good reason. You'll also see Rowdy more frequently from here on out as I try to keep improving on what I have!
I appreciate the question Robert!!
