Aubrey my pictures of the two coon Chief caught on the ground last night didn't turn out the best but when you have a coon trying to climb up your leg it's hard to get good pictures so i will try to post later

Thanks for all the pictures, updates, and phone calls guys. It keeps Aubrey in the woods even though he can't be right now - he loves listening to the dogs tree. We are all home now, and are doing better every day. Keep up the good work with all of the dogs!

Picked up a couple of beautiful pups from Terry Goza yesterday. He bred his Rose female to Clyde this past fall. Rose is a great looking coondog with great breeding behind her - Terry has been running this particular line for about 22 years now. We are really looking forward to seeing how these girls turn out. Thanks again, Terry.

Gudgeon's Red Fever Bruizer (Rip x Boo)

Well it's been kinda hit and miss working with Bruizer on guiding him to the title of "COONDAWG", part of that is my fault, I haven't been keeping up my end of the deal, that meetin halfway kinda thing. Part of that is having a 16 mo old little girl running around, and Emily getting bumped to the other shift so now I'm on "duty" for 7 out of 14 nights, and on "diaper duty" the other nights. Hunting time and daytime training has been few and far between due to the schedule and the "not so ideal conditions" for pups.

ANYWAYS, I figure if Bruizer is gonna be a coondawg, it's gonna be mostly him and no credit to me. Part of being an all natural I guess.

Did a little drag work today, and Bruizer busted out of the dog box, ran till he hit that track and flat out smoked it thru the trees where I had laid the drag... Please not that the whole time he was runnin the drag his nose never once touched the 1 ft+ of snow he was runnin thru. Bruizer is a nose up, smokin the track kinda dog. Has been most of the time I've had the pleasure of unsnapping his lead. Well he's to the point where I'm fine tuning him a bit, or trying to keep guiding him in the right direction, and today was nothing but big grinnin on my face as well as some blasted ear drums!!

I know ppl like to brag about their 4-6 mo old dogs doing it all, but I guess it's not where they start but how they finish. Bruizer is definetely not finished, but another chapter was written today in his training novel, and I think he'll get "there" one of these days. When it warms up a bit he'll be getting pushed by himself and hopefully if everything goes as planned in 2011 he might find himself in a night hunt or two..... TIME WILL TELL

Brandon, Bruizer looks great! He REALLY looks like a Rip pup in those pictures! Aubrey said he sounded great today! Just keep working with him and putting him in the woods and it will all fall together.

Aubrey is getting cabin fever, and decided to video some pups today. Here are a few videos of Trouble (Clyde X Rain) and Digger (Rip X Boo - littermate to Bruizer). Aubrey laid a drag for them today, and hung the drag in a tree. Neither one of these pups have ever seen a cage coon, and have only run a handful of drags.

A 5 month old Rip X Foxxy pup running and treeing a drag. We really like what we're seeing from this cross. A lot of drive, good noses, and natural treedogs.

Yup, Aub, Abram, and Carl went up to Mindoro yesterday. Aubrey said it looked like a Redbone sectional because there was so many Red dogs there - 7 total I think. Anyhoo:

At the 6th Annual Cabin Fever Bench Show in Mindoro, WI, Aubrey and Red Fever Looking For Trouble (Clyde X Rain) won class, breed, and BOS female, and he also won Champion female with FCH CH WCH Red Fever Gangsters Pair A Dice (Clyde X Bonnie).

Also, Andrew Schlosser and his 8 month old Bonnie X Clyde pup PR Andy's Fever Red Rocket Jesse won Class and Breed at a show in Louisiana.

And I will let Carl tickle you with his win

Bruizer looks great Brandon! He's a nice mix of Rip and Boo. Can't wait to see how he finishes out!

Here's an update we received yesterday from Andrew Schlosser of LA. He has a Bonnie X Clyde pup from the second litter - those pups are now 8 months old. His pup, Andys Fever Red Rocket Jesse, has been tracking and treeing with the older dogs since he was about 5 months.

"I Got Jesse out tonight. He put one by his self within 20 mins from the click of the snap and made it look GOOD!!!! For some reason my camera would not work my buddy took a picture with his phone but its not the best quality"

Keep up the good work with him, Andrew!

We'll be firing up tonight. I'll see how Jailhouse JJ does after her incarceration. She was pretty freaked out for acouple of days after her release. She seems to be back to her old troubled self.

The crippled hit the timber for the first time in almost 3 months last night! Fired up Dice solo. First drop, she ran one into an old barn that had fallen down. Second drop, she struck in and hit the creek, ran the track about 1/2 mile, and caught the coon in the creek.

Aubrey has been trying to tell me that coonhunting qualifies as "therapy" so he went out again tonight for a quick "session". Took Ox solo. Ox has been sitting in the kennel for about 3 months now, but Aub said he never missed a beat and did a beautiful job. Here's a pic:

I took Tater out earlier while it was light out. I wanted to watch him work. He got out and was gone for 10-15 minutes at a time then would check in.
Tonight I took Jailbird and Tater. They struck right off the lead. Pushed this track for an easy 20 minutes before they treed. Called Aub while I was walking up to only see it was has slick has Dane's bottom. We made some attitude changes and Tater restruck just off the tree. I could see the tracks going to and from the tree.
They pushed the track about another 200 yards and felled treed. I could here JJ was in a hole. Walked in and by golly they had it. I could see it the base of the tree.
Pulled them and walked a real short distance and recast them. Been working on not going back to the previous tree. Seems to be working. Tater struck and treed pretty quick. JJ was right behind him. Den.
Called it a night.
