Dc50

I bought 2 new dc50's from garmin about 3months ago and use them with my 320. Both collars link up fast and I have no trouble with losing signal, but with one of them if the dog trees it will show treed but when I get the dog off the tree it still shows treed. It seems to just get stuck. It doesn't do it everytime but it seems to be getting worse. I can usually turn the collar off and back on and it will work fine he rest of the night. Just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem or if there's anything I can do. Thanks

Does it still show treed if you release the dog. I am thinking out loud here but if you released your dog and it moves quick the treed should go away.

Other than that Garmin at 1800-800-1020 could help you out.

When it gets stuck like that it doesn't matter if I release the dog and it goes a mile it will still show treed at the same place. I also notice that the longer the dog trees before I can get their the better the chance it will get stuck showing treed. I will get in touch with garmin about it, thanks for your help.

Travelman in some buildings you cannot pick GPS signal. I cannot get GPS service in my store I have to go outside and get away from the metal roof. If it won't pick up GPS then I would get a replacement.

Mr. buchanan I would getting a replacement also.

alpha hand held went hay wire

This last Saturday night was hunting in the Missouri river bottoms had three tt-10 collars on and was tracking dogs really good then all at once the screen showed all three dogs 96.7 miles away. the on screen track on all three dogs showed a straight line to Garmin headquarters in Kansas! Dogs had gotten out of pocket , but not that far! lol Toned the dogs in after awhile. when they got 150 yards from us two collars returned to normal one stayed on 96.7 miles. I tried resetting to factory settings and reset units to yards and it still didn't change from 96.7 miles until the dogs were basically handled worked fine the rest of the night. Hunted the same area twice before and never had a problem. wonder if this has happened to any one else before. 1st glitch I have had with it in two years of having it.
Well I guess this has never happened to anyone else??

Bruce or somebody , I have a Alpha & the collar that has the built in shocker in it . Now my question is can you lock the collar to stay " ON " even if someone else steals the collar and turns it's off ? Can you lock it with the handheld ?

I was deer hunting with bunch of fellas Saturday that had deer dogs . They had the 220 & dc 40 collars . Found 2 dogs later with no collars . This is why I'm hoping it can be locked by the receiver to stay on even if you physically turn the collar off . If you cannot do this , I hope Garmin will make this adjustment .

They turn on and off with the button. The DC 40 did have a pin system that you could set before someone could track your dog. But you turned it off and you reset the pin number.

I don't know the details of which collar and which system your talking about but if you tune something up and get it working better then yes you can use more energy to accomplish that. It is generally not to the extent that anyone would notice it. If he is noticing it real bad then I think his batteries may be weak or he could change for 5 second update to 10 second update and not really notice much difference on the screen but have several more hours of battery life.

Astro 220 not showing exact location

Hello, I am new here and read this entire thread. Wow! Lots of info! But I am having a problem with my Astro 220. While driving and on the interstate (and even walking on a road sidewalk), the pinpoint shows that I am not on the road, but rather off to the side quite a ways. I have re calibrated it several times with no luck. (This is a new to me system and I have updated both the 220 and the DC40. It also shows me constantly moving even when I am still. The track marks will be all over the place in the one area.
Another thing I wanted to find out was the circle around my location. What is that for? It sometimes moves but feels like its lagging some. Thank you all in advance and sorry for the long write up.

Dclm you are zoomed all the way in when it is drawing lines. What your seeing is the drift of the satellites. You would never be zoomed in that tight tracking a dog. Turn WASP on and it may correct your location some. Your map in the ares your in May be off some
