Them some fine looking females Scott. I'd have to give it to Daf. She looks a little more balanced out. Ellie has them long gams going on.

We'll be back out again tonight. I picked up a case of pink eye in my aiming eye. Got smacked in the eye Tuesday nightby a branch. Rubbed it with my blood soaked hands. DOH.
The eye drops the doc gave me make my right eye blurry.
Been a throwing lead all over the place. I've been shooting like Raven. Tried it left handed. Had a shell go down my shirt. Did the to hot dance.
I have a backup gun thats a bolt action. Weighs like 50 pounds. But it shoots nice.
Will have piks soon.
Scott

Deadeye

Does not sound like me at all. I don't make excuses. LOL

I think I'm rubbing a little of my shooting expertise on Buck. We had to run a few of his wounded down.

Hitting the ice in the morning and the trails in the evening. Gotta love Wisconsin winters!!

See you soon, Scott!

Such generosity. LOL
I winged one at Aubs last fall. It hit the ground running. JJ and one other blazed the trail for a long ways. Ended up losing it.

I'll check the sights when my eye gets better.

See you guys in a couple of weeks.

Ox pups

Hey Aubrey, Showed the pups their first coontail today and they went nuts. They are intense little dogs for 5 months of age. This is one of the females, but they all did just as well.Larry

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I just wanted to wish the Butler family a big congrats as well on the newest addition. One more red dawg handler down the road!!!

Hope everything goes smoothly over the next few weeks and everyone is back to tip top shape.

On a side note, I wasn't supposed to go hunting tonight as Emily had off tonight as well as I, and those nights are going to be few and far between this year. Well, Emily and Jada were napping right at dark so I snuck out for a quick drop. Being that I wanted to keep my word for once on the "quick drop", I decided to try a spot close to home that I haven't hunted since before hide season opened. I took only Edge due to the time restraints, plus I wasn't sure what to expect. Edge went in and seemed to have winded one about 50 yards from me, ( I could see him as I cut him a beef pasture with standing oaks.) Right after he looked like he was on a mission, I could hear 2 coon squalling at one another. AMAZINGLY enough right after that, Edge struck and treed right away. There were two coon in one tree that was right next to a den tree.

For once I kept my word, I cut him at 6:30 and was home by 7:30 with one coon skinned. Left the other one for Bruizer on another night.... Stay tuned for a purty red dawg treein.... Till then, here's Bruizer's partner in crime.

One drop. 1 tree and one other you'll have to see the vid.
Two in one and one in another.
I had a first tonight. Been cooning for about 25 years.
I've been waiting on a new usb cable for my camera. Got it off ebay. I didn't realize it was being shipped from CHINA!!! It's on the perverbial slow boat. I may break down and just go buy one from Wally world.

Raven,
My eye's better. 3 bullets. 3 coon.

Enjoy.
Scott
We ended DEEEPPP on this one. But they had the meat. So all was forgiven. LOL

The new 4 wheeler dog box.
I hit the river again. Took them a while. They treed on a den. Done for the night.

Tater pushed this track off a den tree they had previously treed on. All Tater here.

At the den.

Continued

A first.
I hadn't been to this spot in a long time. I94 is about a 1/4 mile from here. Last time my dog ended up under I94 in a culvert. Somewhere along the line they put a bus in this small woods. I mean small. 100' x 150' I've always just walked by this woods.. Last night they were dragging me and JJ was striking right on the leash. I cast Tater. He struck right at the woods then I cut JJ.

Got them going again. They struck aways out. I could tell they were in the ditch. I finally caught up to them. They had one cornered in the creek. The coon managed to bolt down the bank. I lost sight of them and they fell treed. I don't think this was the same coon. Two in the tree. Both dry. MMMM

Aub. I found a REAL short cut. Snowmobile trail took me just down from the Jeep.

Weather permitting. I'm going to try Tater solo tonight.
Coon are starting to rut. So I'm going to hit it hard for a while with him.
Scott

Good stuff

Those are real nice looking hounds Scott and Tater sounds and looks like the real deal. He's a young hound yet but showing outstanding characteristics...I'd bet he's going to be fun for a long time to come.

Thanks Tom. Like you always say. It all starts with a good foundation.
Something you and Red Fever both have. It just makes it fun when all the tools are there and all I have to do is fine tune them.
Hoping Tater has what it takes to be a comp. dog.
He needs more exposure to other dogs. So that's in the plan. Road trips. LOL
Didn't make it out last night. Fog ang rain. Hoppefully tonight.

Bill,
I love them piks when a dog throws its' head back.
Moon looks NICE!!!!

Thanks Scott!
That is what I love to see as well. Nice video of the bus coon. Several years ago a friend, my brother and I treed one under an old Caddy. To make a long story very short. It was the last night of the season and we spent 5 1/2 hour trying to jack the car up so we could get that one coon. There was a culvert right behind the car, a couple times the coon ran into the culvert and then back under the car. In the end the coon went through the culvert and down a ditch into another junk vehicle. Twelve o'clock rolled around and the coon won that battle. I'm sure we all have many stories about a coon hunt that will stay with us forever!

Happy hunting!
Keep the dogs lookin' up the tree!

Singled Tater out tonight. I was about to pull the plug when he struck a track off this pond. He pushed it across the pond and treed right at the edge. Track was all of 1 minute.
So it's official. Tater got his first solo coon without company..
I couldn't have been happier.
Scott

Carl and Aubrey- It is fair that I take photographer with me remember Kristy lost my camera. If I had the camera in my hands the photos would be all blurry. The reason why is when Moon is standin on the tree with her head all the way back, barkin' up a storm. My heart is RACIN' and I wouldn't be able to hold the camera still enough for a photo. Hopefully the little fizzy dog will get to go chase some squirrels this weekend. Then we'll have pics of a real tree dog to post! haha! LOL!

Loaded Tater and JJ up and hit the river. I redid the box. Didn't like it. I cut it in half and both ride together now.
First drop. They busted a good track. JJ struck first. Tater a split second later. They ground holed it.
Second drop. They both screwed around on this bad track for way to long. Easy 1/2 hour. I pulled them.
Third drop. Great track and tree. JJ again was first to strike. Tater right behind her. Had three in the tree. Took them all.
Scott

I lost JJ's lighted collar somewhere.
Wondering if its "in da hole". LOL
