Little 5 is 4 1/2 months old and weighed 55 pounds today. He is taking off going hunting good so hopefully it wont take long before he's cranking. Time will tell tho.

We have taken him off the steak, milk, chicken and eggs Roy! LOL! All he has now is Purina Hi Pro 30/20 in a self feeder. He is looking good and likes to go, hope to get him running pretty quick and start taking him by himself to a few hot spots. Let me tell you he has a hound mouth you can here. Yes he is 55 lbs at 4 1/2 months old and put together pretty darn good as well. Will try to get some better pictures this week.

Not sure how many have had this happen to them but it a first for me in over 40 years of hunting. Last night we were hunting Tebow and Little V. Tebow treed about 600 yards from us and when got to within right at 60 yards there were five yotes all over the hounds and us as well. They ran right at us and we yelled and they turned and split in every direction, they were zeroing in on the hounds! Tebow and Little V came with tails tucked and came straight back and not a mark on them but they were spooked. Funny thing was we never heard a sound out of them prior to this, it was right along an edge of a old picked corn field and a clear cut.

I have had them come in real close growling and chopping their teeth. Pretty spooky when you are alone. My dog quit the track and came in right by me. The coyotes pretty much followed us back close to the road the they left

Another time I found my old Inga female after being lost 2 days. I found her by listening to a bunch of coyotes growling and howling at something on the river where I dropped her off at. When I got in there they left but Inga had barked herself completely hoarse..... but she still had the coon! There was a 12 foot circle around the tree of solid mud. She had been there a long time.... like probably the whole two days worth.

I have heard of them tearing a hound up pretty good to the point they don't hunt quite right after it happens.

My fear is that it is going to get a lot worse with all of the possibility for wolf blood being mixed in. I know MO, IL, and IN has documented quite a few wolves in the last 10 years.

I was hunting a young dog by himself one night and the coyotes ran him all the way back to me. When he bailed out of the creek to come to me they was close enough and was still in the creek but I could hear them panting!!

Max here is a picture of Little V, he will be 5 months old April 11th. He is getting through the woods pretty darn good for his age and size. He has a horn on him as well, no squeal or squalling with him, you will like his mouth! Sure hoping for the best with Daisy as we would sure like a few more like him. He is not bench show material yet, need to run some fire out of him and maybe, just maybe he will stand still then.

Took Tebow and Little V tonight and first dump was right at 400 yards and had a den, two barks and treed so betting on a sow. Next dump Tebow got away from Little V and treed right at 1000 yards and had one, did a real nice job in some rough stuff. I think Tebow is getting in a little better shape! Little V ran out of gas tonight! LOL!

Had a tough hunt tonight. First one was ran hard right at 900 yards and treed in a pipe by a lake, second dump they hit and ran about 450 yards and treed a den. Third drop went from one country road to another and did not hit, picked them up getting ready to cross a old county road. Last dump hit and ran about 500 yards and treed and had one, Dogs hunted hard for what little we accomplished.

Thanks CR, we have been taking it slow with him. He will be 5 months old the 11 of this month so he is still pretty young, getting him used to hauling, other hounds, guns, water and leading as he pulls like a horse. Will be breeding Riptides mother in the up coming month or two to Jet V semen and we will go from there. If we had no bad luck we would have none if you know what I mean.

Max we took all the dogs and got their Tick Shot and their rabies shot for the year. I give the boosters shot myself each year. Tide weight in at 68, Tebow 64, Slim 71 and Little V at 57 lbs. Had to weight them for their shots. The only ones I was of on was Tebow, would have never thought he weigh 64, guessed him at 55 plus a few and Little V weighing 57 and won't be 5 months old until the 11th of this month, man he is a Hoss but still gets around very good for his age and size.

I know Daisy has put on a few pounds and hoping she drops a basket full! Or at least three! It is count down time, any hour!

Max we hit a hunt tonight and Corey won his cast with Slim but did not have enough to get his first place, Got third place. I think they had a turn out of 18 hounds. Had first and first on split tree off by himself and see eyes in the den but they would not say it was a coon, they all seen the eyes and he ran about 750 plus yards so we thought we knew what it was. LOL! Second dump he had last strike and other three dogs treed in the ground, Slim went about 75 yards from them and rolled up and treed and had it. Only two tracks they ran all night. Kind a easy to call Slim as he is by himself most of the time.

How are the Little V's and Daisy doing?

Max we took Slim and Little V tonight and Little V got in there 450 yards one dump and right at 700 yards the next dump and only made two barks after Slim. Little V did not tree but he is working the tracks and raising up on the trees, he is getting the idea and Is about time for a few dumps outs for him. He was 5 months old the 11th, will get a picture of him treeing when he gets it right! Made two trees and seen two coons and that was the only two tracks we ran. Hoping Jade is ready for another litter!!

He sounds like he's not afraid of the dark!! Lol I'm ready to see some pics of him treeing! That would be great!! I hope she is ready too! Hopefully everything will work out to where u guys can take her up and she will be ready then u can just head back!
