This was a good weekend. We had fun, got things accomplished and managed to do some hunting with good folks.
Saturday night we cut loose with four dogs....not planed, but hey...we went with it. Mr. Christmas (Jon's Grandfather) had Dixie, Richard (a family friend of the Christmas') had Sam, and the usual suspects Jack and Jim.
We cut them loose and Jim immediately struck. Jack and Jim worked the track quite a way and eventually the Dixie female put in with them. Jack ended up taking that track away from them and scalding it down the other side of the holler. Jack treed and Jim came in and treed as well. Jack did a great Job being belly up on that tree with all of the distractions from Dixie and Sam boo hooing and running all around. Jim did a fine job as well.
That tree was leafy and massive...and as it is with my luck it touched (by limbs 4inches in diameter and larger) at least 4 other trees....so we worked with the other dogs and eventually collected them up and went on.
Pics from the first tree on Saturday

Now from there we cut them loose again and Jack, Jim, and Dixie put in and ran one into the ground. Shortly there after they ran another track up in a big ole den tree...so here we were two trees in and no meat to the dogs....
Then the fun began. Jim and Dixie decided it was fun time. They ran wide open across the top of the holler while Jack had was hunting by him self. We got over to Jim and Dixie and then we were a little over 800 yards from Jack. So I called and called and he came on towards me.
Well on his way back Jack struck in and to make a long story short ended up treed and got some back up from the Sam dog. Jon and me walked down an incredibly steep gravel road (which neither of us can figure out how they got the gravel on it) down to a nasty thicket and grown up field.
Jack and Sam had three coons treed up in a triangle shape. We couldn't have been prouder. We got them both on the closest one to a clearing and shot it out. It did them both a world of good.
