HALF DEEP ON A SLICK FIRST DROP. BLOW A BULB ON THE WAY OUT. SECOND DUMP THEY GET REALLY BIRDIE ON THE LEASH SO I CUT UM. THEY GO A MILE DOWN A HECKUVA CREEK WITH TIMBER ON BOTH SIDES JUST TO BE CAUGHT COMIN OUT ON THE RAILROAD TRACKS. ONE MORE TIME RIGHT. SEND UM UP INTO SOME HUGE CONSERVATION GROUND. THEY ARE 1.3 MILES UP IN THE NICEST OLD HARDWOOD TIMBER YOU COULD ASK FOR SPLIT TREED 40 YARDS APART ON BIG OAK DENS. SAME PAIR AS LAST NITE. THEY WORKED HARD AND WENT LOOKIN FOR A COON. WE HAVE TREED COONS IN THE FOG, BUT SEEN ALOT MORE BAD HUNTS THAN GOOD IN IT AND THATS WHAT WE WERE DEALIN WITH TONIGHT. THEY ARE 2 BEAT UP VERY SORE FOOTED YOUNG BLUEDOGS. GOT UM HOME AND GAVE UM THEIR HOT FEED AND A DOSE OF PENECILLIN/EXCEED ANTIBIOTICS, SOME LIQUID TYLENOL AND BAG BALM TO THE EARS AND TWEEN THE TOES TO GET UM HEALED UP. WE GOT A FEW NITES OF SEASON YET. <v>

TREED 2 WITH OPPY AND THE GIRLFRIEND. THEY DROVE A COON DOWN OFF AIRHART RD. INTO THE RUSHCREEK BOTTOMS AND HAD A BIG SOW. CUT BACK LOOSE OFF THE TREE AND THE WENT A QUARTER AND HAD A BIG DEN. COULD SEE A COUPLE COON LOOKIN OUT DIFFERENT CRACKS IN THE TREE. MOVED SPOTS AND THEY HIT ANOTHER GOOD TRACK WENT .900 YDS. AND HAD ANOTHER BIG SOW COON.COMIN INTO THE TREE I SHINED THE LIGHT ON THE DOGS AND ONLY THREE EYES LOOKIN BACK. GOT THERE AND OPPY HAS A RED GLOB OVER HIS WHOLE EYE. GOT HIM HOME AND WASHED IT OUT. GOT A BIG CLOT OUT OF THE EYE. STILL ONLY ONE EYE REFLECTS LIGHT SO I'M THINKIN HE IS A BLINKER. I DON'T KNOW HOW IT DOESN'T HAPPEN MORE OFTEN RUNNIN THROUGH THE BRUSH WIDE OPEN. IT SUCKS, BUT I KNOW HE'D RATHER LOOSE AN EYE THAN BE LEFT AT HOME. TOOK THE JET FUEL DOG ALONE AND TREED A BIG BOAR AND 2 DENS. <v>

But unless I'm wrong about name/location, just saw the Simmental breeder north of Hanover pay $28,000 for a new herd bull on video sale this pm. Must be some good grass on that side of the river to afford that kind of bull. Take care, Ron.

Perry, the Pawpa is 72 now and he's been telling me he's gonna thin out for the last 10 years, he has a yard full of em. I just picked up a 6mnth old pup and believe it or not his grand-dam is off Oppy He is all I got right now. my girl left the kennels open the other day and my zip dog and his daughter got out and made it as far as the highway and got ran-over........anyhow, Op still looks great and you fellas are more then welcome down here anytime.

I got my orders and I retire from the military on 28 March. I will be heading home the 24 of Feb. I will not be wasting any time on getting my oppy pup started. I will be going out the 26 of Feb. Last nite I just got done making a new lead out of 550 cord. Tell me what you think.

ILLINOIS KILL SEASON 2011/2012 IS OVER AS OF LAST NIGHT. HAD A GOOD VISIT YESTERDAY WITH DONNY AND JACOB WALSTON. DONNY PICKED UP THE JET FUEL DOG AND JACOB HAS BOUGHT THE WILLIE DOG FROM JEREMY WHITAKER SO THEY WERE PICKING HIM UP ON THE WAY BACK TO INDIANA. THIS WILL BE ONE OF THOSE SEASONS THAT STICKS OUT IN THE MEMORY IF I MAKE IT TO BE A REAL OLD TIMER. LOTS OF FUN NIGHTS OF HUNTIN, AWESOME WEATHER THE WHOLE WINTER, GOOD DOG WORK FROM 3 DIFFERENT YOUNG DOGS OUT OF 3 DIFFERENT MALE DOGS THAT HAVE BEEN FAIRLY POPULAR FOR THE LAST FEW YEARS AND TREEING COONS WITH THE OLD DOG THAT WILL BE 12 YEARS OLD IN MAY. AS NEAR AS I CAN FIGURE THESE 4 DOGS AND I PUT 169 COONS ON THE BARN WALL. I STAYED IN BY THE FIRE LAST NIGHT AND JUST REFLECTED ON THE PAST SEASON AND ALL THE GOOD THINGS THAT CAME WITH IT. <v>
