Thanks Dave... You were right when you said Roofus will make you love him... I know I do... I want to thank you again for your honesty about Roofus... He is a true COONDOG... We had a flawless night last night... Roofus is the best hound that I have followed for a long time... I am proud to own him... I like his style alot... A black and tan handler thought I treed his dog last night on the first drop... I told him buddy I won't tree my dog on someone elses dog.. I said if ol' Roofus isn't standing there on the side of that tree when we get there I want you to minus him... He was deep with the meat by himself... The black and tan was there trailing all over the place and wouldn't tree... Maybe we will finish in the next hunt... I would like to go to an English Sectional this upcomming weekend but I don't think I will be able to make it... Roofus has actually won three out of four hunts we had a bad judgement call and my fault for not knowing the rules well enough on the last night at Southern English Days... But on paper two out of four ain't bad... Take Care, JR

I seen some positive things last friday night... We dumped out at least twice on deer and once on a opposum and not a peep came out of Roofus... I truly believe he is as straight as they come... Let me tell you the truth about the line of dogs Roofus is out of and trash. They are naturally straight. To the best of my knowledge, Roofus was never broke off of deer, he just naturally never ran any. I know his mother never ran a deer. I know both his maternal grandmother and grandsire never ran deer. It is a trait in the line. Roofus may pass it on but if you breed him to females that run trash, the pups might run trash.

Roofus did tree 1 possem this winter. Actually, a pup treed it but Roofus did bark treed. It was across a flloded creek and all I needed to do was hollar at him and he quit. He had lots of chances to tree possems last winter, he just didn't do it.

You can list me in the fan club and trust me, I am hard to please. He would have never got the chance here that you are giving him. You have my sincere thank you for doing a good job!

I have a half sister I call Angel that is just as good as Roofus. She has never ran any trash either.

Im trying to track down a female that has alot of the same blood the ginger dog had in her.the timberstar buck stuff should cross well on him.I would like to hunt with him maybe we can set up a hunt.

Bam Bam II was on UKC's Reproducer's List until he go too old to qualify. As you can hear and see, Roofus was an apple that didn't fall too far from the tree. Bam Bam II was a double grandson of Dickey's Old Sandy and a grandson of Timberstar Buddy. he was about as much Junior bred as they get. I have video of 4 other Grand Nite Champion brothers and sister of Bam Bam II including Dual Grand Champion Clemon's Little Bam, a dog I studded for years.

We will be taking Roofus to an English Sectional this weekend if nothing happens it is over a 5 hour drive I got word today that they are gonna let me have sat off... So I should be there... Wish me luck... This may just be the big weekend for Roofus he needs to place in the top 4 places to become a Nite Champion... Roofus has proven himself to me personally... He has treed coons in Illinois, West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolinia... We hope to add more states as we travel along to these hunts... Roofus wins again making him a Nite Champion @ English Sectional hosted by the Tri-State Houndsman Association of Hedgeville, WV. We hunted in VA last night to earn a 3rd place win to become NTCH. Roofus' score was 0-minus 325 circle 175+. I am very proud to own him.. He will now be offered at stud as he has proven to be a winner... Not to many dogs can become a NTCH as easy as he has. I have entered him in 5 nite hunts actually winning 4 of them although 1 that didn't get handled properly.. Still 3 wins out of 5 hunts isn't bad.

His wins were 1-1st place with highest score 400+w/ 26 hounds entered(Walker Sectional) 1- should have been a 10th place win 300+ w/115 hounds entered(Southern English Days sat night) 1-2nd place win 250+ w/25 hounds entered(Black & Tan Sectional) and 1-3rd place win 175+w/22 hounds entered(English Sectional)... Now the real hunting begins I will do my best to finish him to a grand I will not stop entering him in the hunts unless something happens. Once again thanks to all that has followed this post and keep in mind this was my 8th trip to the woods with him.. How many guys can say that...

And Dave Roofus let out some powerful locates last night. That was nice for me to hear. Roofus does his winning by being honest and staying out of trouble. We dumped out on a fox last night and not a peep I still believe he is 100% straight...I encourge every man that wants a nice hound to look at your line of hounds. For which Roofus has made me a believer.Thanks a million for such a nice hound, JR

JR, you and Roofus make a great team! Keep up the good work.

I am keeping track of the 3 pups out of Roofus but the paperwork has not been kept well and there is a delay on it being updated. Hopefully, it will work out in the end. I plan on buying the female when the paperwork is right. They are all supposed to be treeing real well and are being worked on caged and released coon. The males are supposed to sound like Roofus when they are treed.

Roofus treed a blonde coon last night.. However I didn't get it on film... We made four drops and he and 1st and 1st on all of them. We were hunting with a Nitech Black & Tan and a Nitech Walker.

I liked the way it sounded like only 1 dog was treed until you got close. I have lots of videos of Roofus' ancestors where they were the only dog you could hear until you got close. Good luck on your AKC Hunt.

Roofus is such a joy to hunt in the hunts I feel that it would only be fair to enter him in the Akc hunts as well.. Although I don't plan on driving to far for the Akc Hunts.. Just the locals unless We end up at the WORLD hunt...

His Akc name will be Plain English's Lakeland Roofus. Dave I hope you don't mind the Lakeland name in there... I will carry the Lakeland name in his pups if I ever have any... If you don't mind...

is now registered AKC. Roofus won his first AKC cast just no + points it was a 1 hour hunt we made two dens Roofus had 1st strike and 1st tree on the first drop. And a three way split on strike and Roofus had 1st tree although all dogs got split treed a plott female and a english female both pullled off their trees and backed Roofus on a den... Roofus' score was 425 Circle points. And Roofus also won SR Male Class: Class 5pts, Breed 10 pts, Show 25pts on the bench earning 40 points towards Show Champion. I will post pics later.

Dave, I recieved a phone call this evening from a guy in St Albans, Wv. wanting to bred to Roofus she shows Junior seven times in six generations.. He hopes she will come in heat at the end of May..
