TOAD WAS AS FOR REAL AS THEY GET, I JUST WAS PARTIAL TO LUKE AS I KEPT HIM AT THE HOUSE AND HUNTED HIM ALOT NITE TO NITE AND STARTED AND SOLD PROBABLY 30 YOUNG DOGS OUT OF HIM PLUS THE ONES THAT I KEPT AND HUNTED.
IF HE WOULD HAVE SIRED 800 AND SOME PUPS AS SPANKY DID, YOU WOULD HAVE SEEN A TREMENDOUS IMPACT ON THE BREED. HIND SITE IS ALWAYS 20/20. HERE IS A PIC OF TOAD AND A DAUGHTER OF HIS OUT OF MY NTCH. LUKE FEMALE AT ASHLAND OHIO, HERE'S ANOTHER ONE TO PONDER. HOW MANY GUYS HAD 2 TOP STUD DOGS THAT YOU COULD CROSS THEIR OFSPRING BACK AND FORTH AND GET TOP NOTCH HOUNDS FROM THE MATINGS? RUSS HAD THEM AND WE ARE HUNTING THE RESULTS OF THAT TO THIS DAY. PERRY

HERE IS THE OPPY DOG THAT I HAVE HERE NOW THAT HAS LUKE, TOAD, AND SPANKY TWICE IN A THREE GENERATION PEDIGREE ALONG WITH 2 DUAL GRANDS OUT OF TOAD IN THERE ALSO.

Emmons brush creek blue crossed with Wendts chippewa fly was done six or seven times. That cross was prepotent. As far as I know there was one dog out of all those crosses that wouldn't tree his own game. I had one and he was a good hound. Don't know if blue was that good with other females but that one clicked. Believe he was the first blue dog to win Autumn Oaks.

Dave Dean and hammer III was the first bluetick to win AUTUMN OAKS IN 1974and if we are talking crosses now i would rate arkie and Squall cross right up at the top

Lots of good post and some great dogs named. I hunted twice against Hammer III. He was awasome both times, won his cast easily. When he was right "III" might have been the best Blue to ever be put in compitition on a regular basis.
As far as reproducing, we all should admit that the female has 50% of the mix, so that makes a big difference. Also, the way the gene pool "clicks together" make a difference. The best dog I ever owned was the grandson to Jet I. Yet, my Rowdy dog, son of Mad-Dog Spanky, who was the son of Spare Time Spanky, is throwing the most consistant pups. So in my pens, Spanky gets a high rating.

One of the best and one of my all time favorites that never really got to get to the big dance was GR.NT.CH.Gr.CH.Adametz's Bruiser. A tremendous lay up dog and as purty as they come!
He helped me set the standards that I wanted 25 yrs ago.He was Toads sire and his blood still is having an impact to this day!!
Jo davies,I think you have got a sliver of him in about all at your crib or a good share anyway.He is in all here.Strong natural cooners impact pedigree's for many,many generations.
Spanky deffinately has won and impacted the breed but I liked the Earl & Spanky combo better.Lil more straight up!!

... Could you please post the names of those two nice Blues for us newbies who don't know them??? Owning a BT who's breeding I don't know (papers remain with former owner)... I love to know the bloodlines of others.... since someday Wyatt will have another BT in our home, that we will hunt. I would like it to be alot like him.... and well bred etc.... so I try to Learn More and more and more! I REALLY like that male. Females' real nice as well but I don't go for the all blues AS much!
