Todd M/UKC

In all honesty Todd...nite hunts and beagle field trials are also just games and entertainment. There is right and there is wrong. Cutting corners, bending rules, and doing illegal or immoral things to get ahead of the competition is wrong...if it was brought to your notice in your corner of the "games and entertainment" world (nite hunts & field trials) would you and UKC have the same "it doesn't really matter cause it's just games and entertainment attitude" ???

You know, who cares if Joe Blow doctored a scorecard or switched papers or threatened a judge or etc, etc, etc...I mean it's just sports and entertainment and it isn't gonna effect me or my kids.

I know it doesn't hurt for us to debate it. I was talking about when congress thinks they need to get involved just because it is a big story. IMO the MLB should be responsible for enforcing thier rules. I don't think our tax $ should be involved in policing them.

I agree with you about these guys using performance enhancing drugs to beat the old guys records. It is rediculous but I'm afraid it is here to stay. To much money involved now making it worth the risk. I don't like it but that is the way it is.

Skinning ole Maris hits 61 HR's and held that record for many many years. Broken one year from a guy to to takes the fitfth when asked about steroids and from one who has been caught cheating used corked bats.

Then the HR record is re-broken from one involved in steroid controversy . Sure records are made to be broke. Hate to see the old timers records broke this way.

The legends are known to have used "Greenies" to allow them to get up for games. Amphetamines...

BONDS

I know this topic could go on forever about this and that. I am not a Bonds fan and I never will be. I have a cousin that played with him for a few years in San Fran and he has always told me that Barry is by far the best player he has ever played with or against and he also says he is by far the biggest A-H$%^ he has ever played with or against. I say he is on roids too but until someone proves to me that roids improve your hand eye coordination, I think it's a bunch of bull. HE STILL HAS TO HIT THE BALL!!!!!!!

Not that he admitts the drugs as undetectable, but admitts to taking the substances. The cream and Clear.

Those are just two sites but i've been following it for sometime now. He used the cream and the clear...for "arthritis". So if they prove he knowingly took them as steroids..then he's guilty of lieing under oath. And thats where the investigation is at now. To prove he new well what he was taking.

In schools today, you have kids on most sports now on creatine(sp) as well as all kinds of other things, because their told this is what the pro's use, this is what will give u an edge. Especially in lifting weights and helping your muscles recover faster.
I regularly talk to and mentor high school athletes against these things in my community, but it doesnt stop some from still trying to get that edge.

Bonds

Barry Bonds has already accomplished things that no other player has. He's denied knowingly taking steroids. He's been tested several times, and always tested clean. He has admitted to using creatine (a muscle building supplement available at GNC). He's admitted to employing a nutritionist. He's a workout nut.

He is undeniably the best ballplayer of his era! 7 MVP's, and probably should have had two more (Pendleton and Kent won two that probably were deserved by Bonds). As a baseball player, no one compares to Barry Bonds. He's probably the best ballplayer that the game has ever seen.

So why the problems/attacks? He's portrayed (probably correctly) as a world-class jerk! That's what really makes him such a target.

Does anyone know of a better ballplayer?
