Guess, I am cut from a different mold. First and foremost if there is a dog on a cast that is doing what a coondog should do. I want that dog to get credit for it. I may not like the dogs owner. But I don't hold that against a dog. True coon dogs in my opinion should get credit for just that. Being a Coon Hound and representing what a coon hound should be. As far as thermals. I said this on here several times lately. I have used different ones for the past 5 years. Highly disappointed. Felt they were no value. But I have now found one that is not bullet proof as nothing is. But it works and has found some coon the past few weeks that would not have been seen without it. It thick, grown together trees. With that said, on my last hunt. It was an easy tree to see the coon in with the light. However the thermal did not show the coon as well as I thought it would of. But after changing the color modes a few time. It did show the coon fine.
I think it is a tool for showing the hunters where to look with there lights. If you spend more time in a spot with your lights where the thermal says has a coon. The more likely you will find it.
Guess my life has evolved from hunting in tennis shoes and a 2 or 3 cell light in the 60's. To all the electronics we have today. Today I can enjoy them with one exception. Carrying all that stuff around in these thick woods.
