I've seen females that could consistently produce good hounds regardless of what they were bred to. And, in some cases, the female wasn't that good of a dog.

I've only seen 1 of this type. She threw way better than herself. Wipeout Paige, she struggled most every night I saw her cut to tree a coon. Her offspring won world hunts, several to hunt at the truck hunts, and more to be consistent coon tree'ers. Probably a good thing I didn't own Paige, cuz most likely she wouldn't have ever got the chance to be bred.
