Roxanne was hit and broke her leg on the 27th of October. She gets around good but her leg is far from being healed. She obviously hasn't been hunted since. We are going to wrap her leg in a heavy duty bandage and hope for the best.

Well no doubt, it'll be tough to win it with a crippled dog, BUT you never know when she might amble off behind the cast somewhere and tree one and win the whole dern thing.

I've seen cast where a dog found one like that and won. I wish you guys the best.

There is no good solution to mess that UKC put themselves in. They will keep having problems as long as they don't handle problems immediately as they come up. If they they had announced that Sambo was disqualified and there would be no 2017 World hunt winner I doubt many people would have been bitching about how they should have rehunted the top 100 dogs. Since Patrick is willing to rehunt it I am happy for him and hope Roxanne can get it done. Which leg did Roxanne break? Front ones are worse to get around on without.

Back left. Believe me if the hunt wasn't with in few hrs of here I wouldn't be going. They kinda put us between a rock and a hard place. Nullifying the whole hunt. What would y'all do?

If it doesn't risk further injury to Roxy, then I'd go.... You may never make it back to a final cast again in your lifetime.

That's a hard decision to make. I'd make a drop and see what she looks like. I wouldn't risk crippling her for life. No trophy is worth that.... Good Luck...

My dogs missing a back paw and rarely uses that leg anyways. A dog doesn't need all four legs to be a coondog...ive heard of a few 3 legged coondogs....with that said it isn't worth injuring her more...only you really know and see her everyday and how she is Doing. I wish ya the best of luck for sure in whatever you decide!

Ganns Finisher won the World Hunt (1970). But the dog with 3 legs was Ganns Finisher Jr. (son of Finisher). Pride did advertise him at stud. It was his front leg missing.

Front leg problem, I wouldn't be afraid to hunt. I've hunted my own dogs with a sore front foot or leg before. Back leg would be a different story (I'd worry about causing damage to the good leg or hip).

Well the final 3 is determined. I would hunt her who cares if that leg isn't healed, she is 7 not a young dog any more. Good Luck.
