I've never seen the man try to push dogs down people's throats, I have seen him defend his dogs but I have seen another man steadily bash other people's dogs, mine included that he nor any dogs of his has ever beat. I've never once got on here & said 1 word disrespected about his either. I won't get on here & disrespect another mans dog regardless if I like it or not. They're the ones that have to feed it, not me. As far as a money man Shane raises, trains, & promotes his own dogs, with his own $. He seldom ever sells a litter, mostly gives them to coon hunters that'll give him there word that they'll hunt them or cull them. That says a lot about a man in my opinion. Shane has never once done nothin but good things for people that I've seen, regardless if it was someone just starting or a seasoned coon hunter... I could care less what others think of him, until a man does me wrong I don't judge a book by its cover. The way I look at it we all have our differences in opinions & what works for some might not work for others... maybe all this crap will get resolved 1 day with our younger generation

I mean a person has to "show" us what they or their dog is like before we will believe it. But we will believe third or fourth party hearsay accounts from someone else.
Everyone automatically believes that a person has ulterior motives or their judgement is clouded when they talk about themselves or their dog. But they don't automatically think that a person has ulterior motives or their judgement is clouded when they talk about someone else or their dog.
And I am not just talking about the Shane Affair.

Well a yah that I think maybe
Would you please break that down in to 5 small post instead of one long one I can't swallow all that info in one post
And if you can't do that then keep your option to your self and I think there was some hidden messages in there had to be to long for there not to be at least one or two and if you come back with some facts I can't prove different I'll tell every one how bad your dog is that beat my dog (huh that don't make since)well don't think you ever beat me but I'll make somthing up 😛

Yeah, I never beat anyone unless they let me win so they can't talk about me.

Man this is like the Facebook for high school girls love it and as for Brian he was just standing up for his dogs and ya everyone knows no names were mentioned just the term "your buddies" but it don't take a dam rocket scientist to figure that one out but instead of bitching and moaning and always arguing on here take that time and put it in the timber and just congratulate a guy for what his dog has done I've hunted with Shine just as much as anyone is he perfect no tbh use to not like the dog now I do but it don't matter what any of us think including me caz I don't own a hair on the dog nor do I pay for anything.

As for Shane never drew him and competed against him but I did judge him last year at final 4 of 4wheeler hunt last year ya Mac didn't look good but was still in the final 4 better then my potlicker that weekend and once again don't own the dog or pay for anything of the man's dogs so if he likes em more power to him he is the only one that has to like them.

As most of UK I never get on here so everyone best of luck to you in 2017 hope to see many red dogs in the winner circle

Brian was defending his dogs and himself Period. Many times people get accused of things or being part of something because of who there friends are or what they hunt. Sometimes it don't even take that just assumed a connection somehow. And when people are very competitive and have strong feelings towards things it gets heated. But I could care less. I'm going to do what I want to do as far as what I hunt what I breed and so on. And I figure if someone wants my opinion or advice on something they will contact me. I have been blessed to have some nice dogs and that this stock of dogs has been spread all over the country. But that happened because of the dogs doing there part and good friends helping out. One has become more like a brother than just a friend. So there are good things that come from these dogs we redbones. Good Luck to all of the people hunting red dogs

thread

Kinda sorry i started this thread...i tried to delete it and cant....

Wish i had the answers....sometimes it seems that this sport hobby we all love seem to get to serious..

I drew a well known handler last nite who just had found out his dad had 3 months to live...he was at the hunt to do what he loves and relieve some stress...and win...he got beat..i beat him..after the hunt we shook hands and talked about the journey he was fixen to take..

I really dont know why i even shared this lil story other than maybe we need step back an see what really matters..why we hunt these ol hounds...everybody is different...but we are all still human...and we aint gonna agree on alot of different things..including the sport we all share..

But anyhow...good luck to everyone..gonna try win another tonite..

Well said Larry agreed 100% I few years back I lost one one my dam good coon hunting buddies and I learned that night there is more to life then coon hunting before he passed coon hunting was all I did I hunted for the public and my dad still and would do whatever I had to do to win no matter what it took now after all that I just like to go-to hunts see people and have a good time and good dogs which is what hunting is all about

When Brian wrote good luck with pock face and his garbage dogs on another thread last week that Shane hadn't posted on just what dog of his was he defending and from whom ?
Shane said your buddy beat me with least minus scoring 25 and 50 all night where's the lies and dis respect to Brian and his dog that he felt the need to
Cut lose on Mac and Bree who are co owned by mr Biggert?
Then the bash fest started gets really cloudy lol

I didn't get to read all the carp that was posted last night but I have heard from a lot of people about the bull that was posted.
I can tell you this I have never been cheated or had some stupid dog deal from Shane.
The man has always treated me with respect and in return I give him my respect.
Respect is something you earn.

Any dog deals from Shane has been up front and honest. The man will tell you the truth. It may not be want you want to hear but you can take it to the bank and that is what I like..be honest and don't ******** me on a stupid paper deal for a dog.
Just my opinion...
Personal comments about ones looks should be left off here. Just isn't right..

Pride

Old saying," Pride cometh before a fall" it means when we get so proud we go blind to what is happening we will eventually find ourselves in some kind of predicament.
I understand how as competition coonhounters we by nature are competitive. There is nothing wrong with being competitive, but if we forget that all those in the sport with us feel the same way, if we forget it takes others as competitive as we are to even have this sport. If we forget these things and we loss respect for each others competitiveness then what will happen is pride will take over the sport and the fun it once was will be replaced with pettiness and bickering. Some will go even farther because of pride, some will lie some will cheat some will do worse. If as a person you let pride have a partner who's name is jealousy you will find yourself in real trouble.

I have been proud of some of the things I've done, I have also realized sometimes I've let pride get the best of me and when that has happened I'm sorry for it.
It should be everyone's goal to have a dog they can be proud of but let the pride stay in the dog and if you can find a way to have as much fun watching someone else have their turn at winning and feel good that you know that feeling as well, that feeling of accomplishment, then it becomes fun for everyone.
Brag on your dog, there's nothing wrong with that but stay away from tearing down others to do it. Lastly I'm not sure we should get mad at each other just for watching these things unfold. The people that got barred, they were all big boys who knew what they were doing ,they each could have stopped short and not let pride get to them , they made a decision to do what they did and knew what was coming. They certainly went way over the line with some of the things said and accusation of all kinds were made.

But, They are a great example of what pride can do. It's okay by me to understand their foolishness and even laugh some at what happened on this one. They all went too far and got personal. Pride and jealousy can not survive lightheartedness they will not gain strength in laughter. Laughter can stop any fight so we should recognize the results of pride and chase it from us by finding the humor in a bad situation.
If you get mad and say there is nothing funny about all this be careful, Pride and Jealousy are standing near you.

learn

Yea, I learned most all that from experience not from some kind of internal wisdom. Believe me, I've tasted the bottom of my own foot before.

I knew---

A Coach who had won 111 games in a row, and some National Championships. I am really impressed with how he got his teams to that level. Like us, he didn't do it with the same girls every year put with didfferent players.

But last night that came to an end. The smallest player on the floor seen to that!! What really caught my eye was how he handled the lost and the respect he had for the other Coach and his players.

May just be a lesson there for everyone in every kind of SPORT, even one that is a team of Hound and Handler???

Well said. The way their coach handle that said a lot about his character.

Some people like me handle losses better than they do wins. I can be a gracious loser but I can be awful if I win. I guess that it is a good thing that I don't win much. I would be awfully unbearable, especially on the interweb.
