Per the club ideas. I've had issues with clubs not responding back. It gets frustrating when you know there's good stories they could tell and share, but they have no desire to correspond back.
I/we understand the clubs not cooperating but what about bypassing the "few" and letting the "many" do the talking. What I mean is, go in the direction you have started in this forum. You just threw out the idea and look at all the ideas that are flooding in. Leave a place on here for nominees and put a place in the CB with an address for people to write their nominees to. Physical address and Email address. But I'm with these guys on wanting to hear from us small timers. And by not relying on club presidents and going straight to the source, you might stand a better chance.
In addition, you might challenge the youth to go out and gather a story. Challenge them to get a story on one of their "heroes" from their home town. I say that only thinking about the youth because they are our future and it would be good for them to learn about the past. And might consider the possibility of some kind of an award or gift for the young people that participate. Might even let the readers vote on the stories throughout the course of the year and pick a "Young Editor of the Year" award and give away a new pair of waders or a new light. Just some thoughts.
