To buy or not to buy!
I haven't sold many finished dogs in my life, you could count them all on one hand. I have however sold many pups and started dogs. I have heard every excuse known to man. I've advertised a litter in the Bloodlines Magazine and took names as they came in order without any deposits. Some never call back, some won't answer their phone, some are sick and can't make it to pick up the pup and some just let their wife's field their calls. One of the worse was a gentleman called and ordered a couple pups I had advertised for $300 a piece. He asked if I'd take $500 for the pair and I agreed. He was supposed to send a check and come that weekend from KY to pick them up. He called that weekend and asked if I still had them and that something came up but he was dropping the check in the mail. I said fine. About another week went by, no check and no calls. He finally called and said he couldn't get the pups cause his wife had to go into the hospital for emergency heart surgery. I said no problem because that was much more important. Well, the following weekend was the spring hunt in Ashland OH and guess who was there, you guessed it, with his wife and they were both eating hot dogs and drinking a soda. She sure recuperated quickly from emergency heart surgery!! I haven't sold any pups for a few years now but when I do, I will guarantee them to run and tree at a year old, (if hunted) or I will refund your money. Not a lot for a year old dog but butter than nothing in your pocket. I also require a $50 refundable down payment, reason for that is it eliminates a lot of tire kickers. I believe a man or woman should be good for their word, that's what I believe. Now, many people in America doesn't agree with that statement because they have no morals or values and could care less about honesty. If someone is honest, they will show up with money in hand to buy your dog and live with the consequences. Hopefully they know the difference between an honest or dishonest person when buying. Have a great day........Ron
